Rear Fog Light; Is it legal?
I got pulled over yesterday for driving with my rear foglight on. The police officer said that it looked like I was pressing the brake light while I was driving, and that it looked like my one brake light was fused (since there is only one rear foglight). However, when I pulled over, I shut off the foglight, and he let me go. Does anyone know if driving with a rear foglight on is legal.

it's legal as long as u have it as far to the side as possible... and it's usually just one side only. i think i read somewhere having both sides (as far apart as possible) is ok too...but not recommended.
that cop may have been bored...but at least he let u go..or maybe he just doesn't know.
mb has a stupid thing...the front fogs are connected to the rear fogs...can't separate them. so if u decide to use the fronts, the rear r turned on...unless u rewire...

if you take out your rear fog will you get a light out in the cluster?
i did that on my A4 long time ago and no light came on
i just find it annoying to have only 1 side rear fog
europe is both sides so doesn't look so gay
they really do help in fog though

I don't believe if you turn on your front fog lights, that your rear one will come on. Example, in my 94, you pull the light switch outward once, that turns on teh front fog's, and once more, then you can turn on the rear if necessary. I think this is true with all benzes. I know for sure it's like that in the C, S and ML's, except the ML has that switch under the radio.

on the c36, it's sorta like that. pull out one stop, and it's the street lights (diff from the normal low beam headlights, shines from where the high beams are). pull out two stop, and those go away, while the fogs in the front amg air dam and the left rear light goes on.

ok going to pull that bulb out now
yuck, light out light in dash turns on if you pull out rear fog
i guess you could clear out the code but prolly will turn on every time unless theres an option to turn off that whole check light completely off
