Headlight Light Bulbs?

Sup guys one of my light bulbs for my headlights for my 1995 C280 just went out and i was wondering what aftermarket light bulbs are nice and brighter than OEM ones. I was thinking the Sylvania Silver Stars, some Piaas, and etc. Which ones should i get? Thanks

I got the Phillips Vision Pluses (stock wattage, 55/60, so it doesn't burn up my wires)...whiter than stock and a longer beam so I can see more of the road. I hardly have to use my highbeams now because my town doesn't have many street lights on the residential roads.

got them from www.powerbulbs.com

I too would recommend stock bulbs. I tried many "bright" bulbs and I ended up with stock. Or if you really want some bright light, get a xenon conversion kit. I think they aren't as expensive as I got them two years ago.

these aren't the bulbs that you see on like ebay where they say "brighter" but aren't. These are the same ones as stock except they are 4000K vs 3800K (stock).

The stock bulbs you get are made by phillips as well, these just are sold in Europe and we got the U.S. version (which is what we got).

I too have gone through some bright bulbs but these are the first pair that I've gotten that are actually better than stock for the same price.

94-96 w202's use the H4 bulbs (lo/hi beam in one bulb), 97+ use two different bulbs I believe, one for lo beam and one for hi beam.

The Philips Blue Vision I hear is not that great...output looks nice (bluish tint to it) but not as good for visibility.

The Sylvania Silverstar's are the U.S. version of the Philips Vision Pluses...only because the Philips Vision Pluses are not D.O.T. approved in the U.S. My friend has the Silverstars and they are pretty good, just the same as my Philips Visions...except they cost more than mine.

Philips Visions - $30 w/ shippping (powerbulbs.com, comes in a pair)
Silverstars - $40 + tax (you buy each bulb seperate, $19.99 each)

Hope this helps!

I have the Silverstars in my 95 c280 and i like them. They are much much brighter than stock, and are also considerably whiter than stock as well. Are the Silverstars the same wattage as stock? I cant recall...
