Hello, my name is Evan.

I just picked up my first Benz on Monday and I LOVE it!

It is a C320 w/sports package - Black / Black. I purchased it from Keys European in Van Nuys, CA.
I'm can't wait to hit 1000K miles so I can really see the full potential. This break-in period is going to take forever.

I picked up the flat hood emblem and the "Prestige" CL Style Grill (you know had to get them both - package deal, at least that’s what I told my Girlfriend -If it wasn't for her I would be broke). I think it looks a lot nicer this way.

I have one question for all you Mercedes experts. I am interested in getting an exhaust, and wanted to know which one gives the pest performance increase, and also which one gives the best sound (in your opinion that is).

Well I'm off to bed, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Late

First day home......

Second day with new emblem and grill.....

Got to keep it Clean

You may want to read some of the threads on break in....
one school of thought is to drive it hard early, helps the rings to seat, and burn less oil and have more power later.....
search the forum....

I would follow the "school of thought" contained in the manual. After all, it's written that way for a reason.

Congratulations on the new ride...I love the color and grill (I'm biased-see avatar). All you need is to lower the car just a bit and maybe Plus 1 the wheel and tires.

Be safe and enjoy!

No, that is an average suggestion for all makes and models (not even motor specific). Why would you trust some general statement that hasn't changed in years, where car technology clearly has.

OK, everyone, grab some milk and cookies, cause it's story time:

A friend (a), his wife (b) and another friend (c) all bought a CLK in the same month. Car A and B were broken in according to the manual, and car C had the snot driven out of it since day one. After the break-in period, car A was driven hard and car B was driven like it was owned by a school teacher (wich she happend to be); meanwhile car C is still getting aggressivly beaten.

When we tested the cars (about a year later) car C felt fast as hell, car B felt extremely slow and car A wasn't as slow as B, but definately slow.

Moral of the story... drive it like you stole it off the lot!!!

Congrats on the beautiful purchase and welcome to the forums.

Deutscher wagen, interesting story. I'm curious if the cars switched owners/owners switched cars, would the computerized automatic transmission adjust to the driving style of the new owner? How long does it take for the car to "learn" someone's driving style?

Ghetto? What in the picture looks like the ghetto? I live far from the ghetto. Here is the car from a different angle, gives maybe a little different perspective.
