Spacers for ASA's?

I recently got a set of ASA ST4 17 x 8's all around, I haven't put them on yet, but does anyone out there have them on their 2005 C230 Sedan or know for a fact if I'm going to need spacers to put them on? Thanks.

I can't say for certain, but information I've seen so far has said that ASA's require spacers to clear the front brake kit on sport sedans and AMG's. I think there has been some confusion about ASA fitment since non-AMG C classes did not have the big brake kit until the 230's got them with the 04.5 model. I have a buddy who bought a set of ASA's for his CLK and was assured that they would clear his brakes without a problem, but low an behold...required a 5mm spacer. The spacer (H&R hubcentric) caused vibration that he could not stand, so he was forced to get rid of the ASA's. I sure hope you have better luck.

A brand of wheels. I believe the style he is talking about are replicas of the AMG IV dual spokes.

yes, ASA is a brand of wheels, and yes, they are an AMG twin spoke replica. I've seen the same as you Blake, that w/ the bbk (big brake kit for you newbies out there), that I will need either a 5mm or a 10mm spacer, but I'm trying to find out for sure before I try and install them.

Ive got 19s for my car, with a 10mm spacer for the front. Without the spacer, it clears while there is no weight on the car, then when you put the car down, thats a different story. Mine required a 10mm spacer, hub centric. I believe that they were +37 offset.
Offset has a lot to do with it.

I just had one of my tech's try and they won't fit on the bbk. The offset is 36 and the stock one's are 35, so I'm going to give it a shot w/ a 5mm spacer. I'm going to try again Friday so I'll give you guys an update and hopefully pics then.

Make sure you've got the right size lug bolts to go with them since your stocks will be too short to accomodate the new width. Another member (not the first...not the last) just caused some major damage to his car by using bolts that were too long.

This is my problem. I bought the 10mm spaceer from H&R. But when I went to put it on it did not fit the hub. The only way that it did is when the service guy drilled out the center. I want a spacer that fits perfect. And one that will take that little shimmy out of the wheel. Any answers? please help

for all this hassle wouldn't it just be better to buy OEM AMG rims?

if you want to give me the extra approx (at least) $1000 for this style OEM AMG's then I'd be more than happy to get them.

FYI - TSW Bremma dual spoke AMG replicas should fit perfectly fine without spacers.

Just to let you guys know, I FINALLY put on my ASA's (ST4 17 x 8's). It took a while cause I needed 5mm spacers in the front and shorter lug nuts for the back. No vibration at all. The wheels look great, but they do look a bit small on the car...don't worry, I'll have pics hopefully later today. For some reason the stock wheels look a lot bigger though.
