where to get clear side markers and illuminated door stills?? thanks
Brabus also makes some - they're $500 and light up indiglo aquaish.
BTW: some people have bought "Mercedes" sills on ebay, and they've been aftermarket, so beware!

Those who have them installed, do they fit good and did you change the bulbs also?
my car's fog lamps are blue also so they match pretty well
here is the pic for the painted doorsill letters

As for the side markers:
They won't fit the Coupe perfectly. The best way to make them fit is to heat up the U ring on the housing with a industrial blowdryer. Once the ABS plastic is soft enough, pull the U ring so as to widen the arc. Let it cool down and voila! A perfect fit!
I changed my bulbs to PIAA Xtreme White. I've had them on for 3 weeks now. Still running, not burnt out.
but is it hard to install illuminated door sills? How are they powered? It would be a neat accessory to have... but I'm not likely willing to pay the dealer/installer to install such a rediculous item hehehe...
for one it's embarrasing.... and if the install price is on par with other MB items, then definately a big turn off!

pardon my ignorance

i asked a body shop, they said colored head lights and side markers are illegal, but colored fog lamps are ilegal because they are more like decorative related than safety related.
and i've been have them blue for more than 2 months, passed by countless cops days and nights without any problem.
How did you put the transparent blue sheet on? Did you have to remove the entire lamp to put them on and then attach them back onto the car?
Glue used? or what?
details please..and what brand of sheet?
Thanks!
) and costs $4 only. i think u can get this at any art supply store.i cut an oval piece larger than the lamp size (about 5") and slide it in the gap between the lamp glass and the bumper. there are several "tips" on the bumper that separate the lamp glass from touching the bumper. they act as fasterners holding the sheet so no glue is needed.

u'll see some wrinkles but they are not that visible unless u get up close. i guess if u take the lamp off and tape the sheet around it u can get a wrinkleless application but i won't bother.
it does look cool... would work better if you had HID's on your car
then they will all match...
