I am getting my windows tinted in a few days. I am thinking about the reflective tint also. Can you attach some pictures of your car so i can see what the tint looks like. What brand tint did you use anyway?
Thanks

My cars looks pretty good at most some angels but because its white, the 35% isnt nearly dark enouph. When I got to the shop after it was done the guys first words were you should have gotten it darker. I pray for cloudy days because less light makes it look darker. Anyways i'll put some pics on tommorow because its dark here.

I Finanlly decided on what tint to get, but one problem!

First let me thank everyone for all the helpfully info, whether it was from my post or other post. Ok so one thing that I know now is that I must get moleskins. Another thing I learned is that there are so many tinting companies and shades! The best thing I saw was how different every W203 car can look so different according to the tint you get and according to the mods.
Ok here is my problem: I decided that I want to use the Suntek Infinty OP 50% front door windows, 35% back door windows and 30% rear winshield.
Attached is the website that I bielve my car will look kinda like execpt mine of course is a c230ss. http://www.automalltintfactory.com/276477.html. I love the way the tint looks blackish blue in the day, and I really love the way the tint looks silver on a overcast or rainy day. So after doing alot of research I find out that this reflective tint will interfere with my radio, cell and what ever else. I dont have navigation so that doesnt matter. How true is this interference rumor? As long as I will be able to use my radio and cell I dont really car about anything else. Well maybe my garage door opener in my rear view mirror? This is really bugging me because I finally found the tint I want with a lifetime replacement and now I dont know if I can use it. So whoever knows whatever about this tint I would really appriciate the help. Thanks

I have the same tint on my car and it doesn't interfere with anything. Works like normal. I like the looks as well. I need to advise to you that it will not always look like in the pictures though. Depending on the lighting and angle of view, the color and shading will change some but I think you'll like it. I've had great compliments on mine.

Good luck!!!

one thing that i'm not sure if MB has fixed the problem with tint scratching. My tint is sooo scratched up because i didn't change the rubber portion to moleskin. Make sure the place that does your tint changes the rubber portion of your car. It will save you money in the long term

Got mine tinted 20% all around for $155 w/ lifetime warranty on Llumar films. Any shop that tells you that they'll replace the tint free of charge under warranty if scratched is BS....unless written on paper. A scratched tint is not consider a manufacturer's defect. According to Llumar's warranty paper, it only covers against cracking, peeling or demetalizing, and a new one is against color change (i.e. changing to a purplish color). Fading is not considered a color change, thus not covered.

Yeah, my tint shop put it in writing...so far it's been close to two years, no moleskin, no scratches. I have one of the earliest produced '03 coupes. Mine is 4% all around (except windshield).

wow...4% all around! ever got stopped before? also, how's reversing at night? mine is only 20% and i'm having a hard time backing up in a dark alley or a rainy night. most of the time, i have to roll down one window to check the surrounding before moving into reverse.

No, I've never been stopped, I have out of state license plate, they can't say jack about it.

Here is a pic:

Yes, sometimes I need to roll the window down a bit to make sure I don't hit a curb or something, but that is rare - maybe once a month.

I would love a good fight (second year law student)...I've heard of cops using knives or other objects to tare through illegal tint in NJ, but I've never met anyone that it happened to personally, always friend of a friend if you know what I mean.

As long as the other drivers have their lights on at night, it's not dangerous at all. If they don't, I'll never see them coming.

Erik

EDIT: to comply with the law when I lived in NJ my Maxima had 4% in the back and nothing up front:

I hated the look, but lived with it. I swore my next car would be fully tinted no matter what.

After I put the wheels on it just looked funny with out tint so I got 35% tint. All i know is I said I would leave this car stock when I bought it but that does not seem to be happening.
