That looks wonderful! If my car wasn't a lease (and if it was legal here in NJ) I would get that exact tint. Very hot - good choice.

Looks very good, makes me want to get mine done now. All I'm scared of is the scratchies.

35% is the darkest legal tint in Australia as well.

What would happen if you turned a leased car back in with tinted windows?Would they charge you for the removal, or not even notice? Ive always wondered this

Tint is very easily removed...most shops do not charge for removal (provided you had them put it on) so before returning the car, just stop by for a half hour or so and let them remove it.

BTW, car looks nice.

I think he needs a rear spoiler and maybe lower it a little.

From what I know the tint is just standard Lumar black and I did not tint the front window.

Gary Fisher Joshua? If you mean the mountain bike, it’s the jeep brand.

Yes, retrofitted bix are on my list

I am pretty happy with the height of the car but the front could go down an inch, but not a fan of spoilers.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Sorry to ressurrect an old thread, but I called the tinter that Beverly Hills Mercedes uses, and he didn't know about moleskin.

He said he could use something, but he has to take apart my door panels.

Does your kit require opening up the door panels?

Anyone know any tinters (in LA) that can do it not as intrusively?

Thanks!

I can't find one tinter who has a clue wtf moleskin in.
Over and over I explain how it's an issue with my car, and over and over they tell me no it's not.

Result? No tint.
Stupid stupid stupid people!

Same here. I had my windows tinted about 18 months ago. Installer didn't know about moleskin, but said if it shoudl ever scratch, bring it back. I did. He replaced the driver's side tint n/c.

First off,

I sell the Mole skin kit's.

I worked with my supplier to produce felt (mole skin) that is specifically designed to work with automotive applications.

The Mole skin most tint places use will melt causing glue to be deposited on your window. Secondly the felt is too thick which causes the sticking to come off over time.

I spend many hours and $$ to find the right combo.

Here is my Acura TL Mole skin kit http://members.aol.com/setecsolutions/mole.html

I have the one for the C class on its way. If you can't wait and you know how to remove your door panel you can always buy the TL one. The instructions will be the same for the Mercedes. The lengths will fit the C class. All you have to do is trim them a bit since you will receive more mole skin than is needed.

Best to you all!

James

I have had many Mercedes owners write me about their tint being scratched. I decided to add your cars to my list and built a non scratch window tint kit for you.

I worked with my supplier to build a specially designed felt (moleskin) for this purpose. It will perform and hold up MUCH better than the generic mole skin that is not designed for the heat and humidity of a car door environment.

Let me know how you like it!

Keep your window tint from scratching!
Specifically designed for this application.

Mercedes is gone physically, but still in my heart.
Well, absolutely go with black there's no question. But 50% is WAY too light. I had 35% on my old car and that was still too light (if you didn't know, the lower the % the darker the tint). I'd recommend 25-30%, I think it's the most commonly used.
