well with a little $ inveseted into mods, even stock, it out does my honda. I definetly know how to drive my car. But with mods done, ill be fine. still able to beat all my friends [haha], cept my friend with his 350Z, whom we've topped out a 15 min trip from San Jose to San Francisco at 158/159mph... Mind you, its BONE STOCK as well. Woulda topped out higher, but we forgot we had the A/C on.

I found my 2003 C-Class brochure, it says "Package C4: Bi-Xenon High Intensity Discharge projector low-beam and high-beam headlamps. Heated headlamp washers."

Maybe I saw a very early build date 2003 model or I was mistaken.

It might be possible, especially with majority of us just recently finding out that there were some early build 2005 models that had the 4 piston brakes used on the 2004.5.

Arrow is the OEM blue tint actually "stained windows?"

or a layer applied to the glass?

thanks!

My understanding is that it is a layer of tinted film inside the window glass.

there is no film, inside or out. It's the chemical composition of the glass itself.

No tint film at all! That's what I love about the windows and a big reason I haven't gotten aftermarket tint to this day.

btw...merged the thread with 3 others relevant to the factory blue tint.

i don't understand what's all the fuss about this blue tint. i didn't even recognized it when i bought the car. on a hot day, it feels just like any untinted window. that's why i got mine tinted a week after i bought the car.

it makes a bigger difference than you think. I drove around a C280 4-Matic that dosen't have the blue windows and it was noticably hotter in the car.

In my car, with the ash interior, it's much more noticable.

People notice how blue the windows in my CLK are compared to other cars. I also have ash interior.

Funny, none of my glass is Solex... I have Pilkington windshield, Sekurit and Sigla side windows. Didn't look for the mfg mark on the back window.

Interior stays really cool, even when parked in full sun.

it may be that my interior is black...thus the color blue is not as noticable as some of you guys with ashe interior. but really, the blue tinted didn't affect how hot it got inside my car. it's always hot with a black interior, but with 20% tint, it helped greatly.

i am getting tinted this weekend and Ziebarts told me to go with 43% because the OEM blue tint, combined with 35%, would meter illegal. thoughts? i don't want to pay $225 to look near stock. i don't want crazy dark windows, but i do want it to obviously look tinted...a classy tint look.

There is more to tinting than meets the eyes; scratches for example and how to deal with them.

BTW
Thanx for STFF and posting in the correct thread.

Ask for 3 or 4 year old references. Don't believe them. Believe the forum.

Good quality tint won't scratch. I haven't put on moleskin or anything and my tint, after 2 years, is still perfect. Don't go for the cheapest, go for the one with the best quality products and best warranty. Lifetime no questions asked is what you should look for.

well i have my tint now for about 4-5 month and its that Llumar film. i live close to the water/ beach and have my windows open quite often but yet i cant see any scratches. but then again i hear everyone telling me to get moleskin because the 05- models dont have that scratch prevention as the 06+ models do.

could you pm me with some infos advans, please. like price, contact, maybe 1-2 pictures of that moleskin etc. would appreciate it alot.
