if i had ur car i would tint but not black color its to common and i dont think it really looks that good, and it kinda hard to back up at night. my coz has a silver BMW and he is got this very light Silver tint on car it looks soo sweet. and at some angles u cant even tell it has a tint, but at some angles u cant see in the car at all, and the best of all at night looking out of the car it seem like there is no tint on the car. look into that i think it would look sweet on ur car.

42% in the front and 35% in the rear. pic dated March 2005 tho. LOL just to give you some idea. It'll still be blue-ish.

I still find it funny where any hint of the female posting asking a question even if it's a question that has been asked numerous times our awesome crowd will jump at the chance of answering that question. even for those that don't post as often.

No More New Tint Threads...

Okay, this is for everybody! I just merged 92 freaking threads started about Tinting! Ninety-Freakin'-Two!

This is now going to be the "OFFICIAL ALL YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT TINTING THREAD".

Everything is covered in here. From problems, moleskin, which color, front windshield, where to tint, legalities, etc, etc, etc...

Any future "tint" thread created in the w203 forum will be merged into this thread IMMEDIATELY. So for those of you LAZY folks that don't want to search OR read, just know that if you even "think" about starting a "tint" thread, it'll either be deleted or merged with this thread.

I hope my point is clear.

No tint looks cleanest IMO.

The next best mod if you already have tint is a razor blade.

I 100% agree! The stock blue tint is the ISH! Well, I guess it looks even more prominent on my car, since it's blue.

Something interesting on the blue tint also. Another member on here just recently purchased a BMW and was explaining to me how he was able to tell the difference from the blue tinted stock MB windows vs. the non-tinted BMW windows. Apparently, the sun felt a lot hotter in the BMW. Just thought I'd share that the blue tint actually does deter certain heating elements from the sun compared to regular non-tinted windows.

Thing is, they're based in Texas and I can't seem to find a list of dealers that sell huber optik tint. I was planning on stopping by my normal tint guy's shop to see if he has something super light (even higher percentage than 50%).
He works out of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, and I've been going to him for 13-14 years. Hopefully there's something he has in stock.

Drex, are you kidding me? Let me know if you want hube roptik tint - I've been speaking with the only guy in L.A. to supply it =).

Really? Um, okay, well...Gotta see it in person first. I'll decide from there. First priority is getting the engine stuff done, then brakes, then kit...You know my priority levels right now, so this can wait 'till later. Thanks for the heads-up though.

i would do limo! i have 2% on the two front windows and 2% on top of the factory 15% on the rear and back windows, on 20% on the whole windshield on my jeep. it sucks at might but i like the privacy. i have always had tint on all my vehicles. its just a personal preference. i have only been pulled over once in the last 2 years for the tint and the cop was like thats completly black, i was like i know its illegal blah blah etc. and he was like have a nice day. maybe the F.O.P badge on my plate is the reason why i dont get any b.s for the tint

well colored windows versus clear are colored because they partially absorb Electromagnetic waves...

if you're concerned with heat, huper optik blocks over 70% of heat where as any other dye or metallic tint can only absorb as much as 50%. plus it'll look MUCH better on your midnight blue sedan than any grey/black looking tint will

Yeah, I was talking to the shop that I would go through for huber optik tint and they told me that the lightest shade in huber optik was 50% or 60%. I know it's really light because I've seen other cars with that percentage. Thing is, I really like the stock blue tint a lot, and huber optik tint is not offered in a blue shade at all.

FrankW's car still shows the blue a 'bit through his tint, so his car was a good guage for me. I'll have to figure it out once I'm done with the rest of my stuff.
