anybody have the electric blue window tint on there c230's? its 35% and would make the stock blue windows a little darker blue? looks really good, anybody with pics post. i think the person with the black c32 w/ dcr lagunas has this done, can somebody confirm.

First, let me say that I just spent about an hour looking through this thread, back to 2002, and found a couple of similar questions but no responses......so, I'm gonna ask again. Just got my windows tinted today and around the outside edge of the rear glass, there is a dot matrix pattern that the material does not like to stick to. The shop I used which is 3/4 miles from my dealer and does virtually every car for them, used a 1/2" wide black tape on the OUTSIDE of the glass to hide the dot matrix "issue". I think it looks like crap, as it's about 2" in fron the painted body edge. They did a nice job of applying it and my wife says it looks fine, but what does she know?
Question is......what has everyone else had done to theirs and if there is no tape, does the dot matrix area really show up that bad? Oh, and for the record, I had 35% installed on all 5 windows.
I feel like pealing it off but also worried about what I will find underneath. From the inside, it looks like there is very little dot pattern to start with. I will try to post a pic later of the tape.

oh man im getting mine done tmmrw, and i didn't even think about the dot matrix stuff. Usually i think ppl just tint over it?

Dont have pics handy but i'm sure other members have pics of my car esp the NY area ones. I have 20 percents, illegal got pulled over and cops measured 13%. They are black Llumar tints, good quality. Got it done at Competition Glass in my town. I wish I knew more about this subject prior and used moleskin b/c now my tints are scratching. Have the car tinted all around except windshield.

FYI- The ONLY Tint place in years and years of searching to get my tint done, that had a clue was Automall Tint I think it's called in Fremont. No one else had a clue about the antenna in the rear coupe hatch (that can get fried by lesser tint shops, and costs 1 grand to fix) or about "Moleskin". Actually they use the smooth part of the velcro and it works great. They use very hi quality film, that actually has a warranty, and guaranteed not to fade, $300.
The film they use is semi-metallic...it has not effected my ability to open and close the doors, or the radio as full metal can. All these bad things can happen if you go someplace that is very typically clueless and thats about 99%.
It took me 4.5 years of searching to find someone in the bay area.
I got 15% rear, and 35% front.

I'm planning on 20% in the next couple of weeks but need to find th "right" shop since I'm worried bout the hatch. I heard they have to do the hatch while closed, is this right? thanks

5% tint all around. 35% on the front(plus some factory tint on front and rear making it purpleish). The guys name is Marco and he does tint for most Highend owners(LeBron and such). if a number is needed let me know, his tint on my windows has no lines, right to the edge and sooo perfect.

4) Make SURE you get feltskin installed Also you might want to talk to your tinter about tinting the little portion in the rear small windows.
5) i got bubble but retinted for free
