tint looks good on any color if it's all around. Just having the back three windows done is imo tacky.

why would i feel better tommy? hehe
i originally thought the sides were'nt dark enough to be illegal..... and these cops were BS ing around doing this BS roadblock while someone was prob being robbed down the block- there was at least a dozen cop cars there- right next to a ruff neighborhood where you know something is going down this is a better use of their time- i hate BS village cops! haha

definitly tint all the windows if u are planing on doing it. if your worrired about getting a ticket then jus do it all light or u can go dark in the back and lighter in the front but i would eaither do all like or all dark. i perfer dark. i have tint on my black car and my white it makes both of them look much better i think tint looks good with any color. i personally dont like the blue tint that comes with the c32 or clk430 or c320 sport. it looks a little weird to me i like the color blue but it just looks a little to blue almost like the car was filled up with water. dont get me wrong its OK just nothing special it definitly would not stop me from tinting.
just my .02

that sucks i hope i never get a tinting ticket they are very strict here in florida u cant have very dark in the front the back are ok to be a little darker. i think here u have to have at least 35% in the front and i have 18% everywhere. i will just keep my fingers crossed.

I use to roll down my windows everytime i see a cop, but here in california they dont really care as much. The law is that there should be NO TINT at all on the driver and passenger window, unless factory stocked. So basically, if the cop is bored, your screwed. But you can always say to them. "dont you got something better to do, like stop a robbery or something...":p

join the club.... i got one about a month ago.. i was actually stopped for speeding...but the cop let me off the speeding ticket and gave me a ticket for the tint... needless to say.. i was relieved getting off the speeding ticket... so i didn't mind paying the 60 bucks for the tint ticket...

It was also a gloomy day and I had the roof cover closed, so it made my car look darker in the inside than usual..

are you going to take the tint off??

Stay away from The Block on the weekends, lately they've had 2 Motorcycle cops busting people for the most insignificant of offenses. I even saw them pull 3 cars over at once, and make one wait while they wrote the others tickets!

If you do go, and are afraid of getting a ticket, stay on the outside of the parking lot. They tend to stay closer to the center.

Thats why i park across from la fitness, next to the street. Its a well lit place with camera's. Ive seen those cops. They especially wait next to the stop signs to get "california roll" offenders and also give tickets to loud sound systems.

here tinting is consider fix it ticket, you need to remove the tint and have an officer to sign it off. Along with $20 (i think) and the signed ticket and mail it to the court. I don't think there is any other way. I got one tinting ticket once. It would be nasty to remove those tint. I know a cop.

Sedan Window tinting?

Has anyone had success with tinting the sedans windows? Some have found that the c class scratches the tint after the window goes up and down a few times. If you have had a good experience tell us what kind of tint, metal or not and the maker of the tint.
Thanks for any info.

3M midgrade "Panther Black" 90% metallized, 35% tint all round. Of the four movable windows, I do have one scratch. But I think that can happen anytime particulate matter falls between the window seal and the tint.

i have mine tinted as well but not sure what material was used... don't have any scratches that I can see... I also don't put my windows down too much... that might be another reason...

Need help deciding on tints

Hi all,

I'd like to find out what your experiences with Madico and Llumar window film are?

Is one better than the other for fading, scratch resistance, heat blocking etc.

I'm looking at Madico Onyx versus Llumar Platinum.

Thanx for your help.

Let me know if you can find a quality tint that doesn't scratch. I haven't found one yet that I trust enough to not scratch to put on my C. Do you have a picture of those two brands?

Well i had Llumar on all my windows till i realized my radio did not work after alot of time briging it to the dealer and the tint shop they found out it was the tint had alluminum or some sort of metal in them that was affecting the tint so i had to have it taken off and have tint that had no medal in it at all it does not block heat out as well as kinds with metal in them but its ok. so just becareful with what u chose i would now suggest u have it done at the dealer i should have. But u live and learn.

Location of Antenna

BlackC230Coupe,

Is the antenna located in the rear window or the rear side window?

Does anyone know?

Has anyone else had problems with reception after installing mirror tints?

It is in the rear window and yes people have had reception problems with mirror tints.

Huper Optik tints are supposed to be vey good, but they are fairly expensive.
