Well when I said bmw sites ... the guy who sell's them ... has it on his porsche or something like that .. if you go to bmwxenon.com and look at the site, and see the other cars he has .. oh well .. once I get all this stuff installed .. I will take pictures, then we can decide if I just wasted 190 bucks on some fake lights! haha, cheers -

i dont care what "fake" xenon bulb you buy, they will never look like or replicate true Xenon.

So a person looking at you from their side rear view mirror won't notice that you have your turn signal on because all he sees is a whole mess of white and he cuts in front of you and crashes into you.

They're only on for a few seconds and the rest of the time they are white, so I think that for safety reasons, I'll leave mine yellow.

PRHELOPILOT,

Well, F1 had just sent out my side markers two days ago and I just received them tonight. I do live a lot closer to them then you but, geez, you did order yours in the beginning of the month. I will install them and see if they are snug, they look like they will. They came with some amber bulbs, but I'm still waiting on my PIAAS

I hope you get yours soon.

Wait a minute, is bulb type 194 and 168 synonamous??? They are both 5w5 bulbs as indicated in our manual. Also the listing on ebay that PRPilot posted says bulb types 168, 194, 1??, 1??.

Just wondering if they are synonamous like how HB4 and 9006 are. Can't people just get keep one name and stop confusing people.

Mine look exactly like TOPSPIN71's, who posted a pic in the second post of this thread.
DiamondNoir, where did you get your sidemarkers from? I already bought the "clear" ones from F1, but just curious.

I also bought them from F1Sports. They sell both kinds, the clear and the translucent.

Everybody has a way I guess (after reading so many in this forum) but I just did EXACTLY what it said in the manual.

Push it backwards, NOT THE FRONT TIP, but the ENTIRE lens. Push it on the lower front corner and keep pushing until it comes out by itself.

If you push only enough to get it out, you rip, break, tear (use whatever word you like best) the soft plastic side that holds the lens in place. Then when you are ready to put it back in, DON'T PUSH IT IN. Push it back, until it's clear of the front lip and then let it fall in. This way it will be very snug.

I've removed my neighbor's F1 clear lens about 5 times and it's as snug as the factory one.

Aside from ebay, is there a place where you can buy clear side markers (the one you can see the bulb) kinda like rubenl's side markers.

Is F1 Sports the same the the store F1 Motorsports in North Hollywood? Cause i asked the guy there last week about clear side markers and he too said that you can get them off ebay. Why ebay? Why don't they sell this thing on a regular store?

Question Help needed...replacing front side markers

Today I finally got around to replacing the front side markers on the C55 with color-matched ones. And yes, I did RTFM.

Anyways, I can't get the front portion of the side marker to pop back into place like the manual says. I even tried re-attaching the original amber marker and couldn't get it back into place either. Looking at both sets of markers, I see no difference in terms of hardware...so I don't think I broke anything. Inside the front bumper recess itself, everything looks intact. Fortunately, I only worked on the right side marker and stopped after a few attempts.

I'd appreciate it if somebody let me know if there's something I'm missing here based on their own experiences.

Frustratedly yours

Anyone know where to buy clear side markers or painted ones

I hate the front orange side markers for 2005 C230K SS. I want to buy the clear ones and put silver bulbs that blink orange. Do you know any websites or stores that sell the clear side markers and what type of bulb they use? Thanks

Or you can get the euro impact bumper strips from the dealer. I paid 51.00 each.

Pics of tinted side markers?

I want to preserve the safety aspect of my amber front/side marker lights (my neighborhood dumps out onto the inner apex of a blind curve in both directions), but I want to try to tint them for better daytime appearance on my black car. Has anyone used something like Testor's Window Tint model spay paint to tint their side makers? Can you post pics? And, no, I don't want clear lenses. Everybody and his brother has those.
