Sidemarkers
greetingz,
greetingz,

Last night I bought the cans of spray from hobby people and smoked em...
I originally had the "taiwan spec" clear side markers with silver bulbs (that light amber).
I just wanted to give it a try since it was a cheap mod.
Below are some comparison pics... (after a wash and fresh coat of NXT
)

I did clearcoat them, although I may need to redo the other side b/c I think I missed the edges...
as for the fender... yeah, I need to lower, but I think I may wait until I get new rims, or I may just trade in my car sooner than later...

Who knows...

Here are some night shots and the smoked are actually functional.
The first are the clears at night (with no flash), the second is the smoked ones with no flash, and the third one is the smoked one with a flash--you can see that they actually reflect still.
i have the same car as you and i was wondering how much we can lower these cars ?? like at what point do u think it would look nicee. i was think of lowering mine about 2 inches .. u htink that would be good??

And, just to clear up any confusion (which I think there is), the pics are NOT photoshopped. They are ACTUAL pics of the smoked sidemarkers installed. I smoked the sidemarkers the day before, then I took pics of my car with the clear markers (for the before comparison pic) and then installed the smoked sidemarkers and took pics (without moving my car) with the new smoked sidemarkers. Thus, it gives the illusion that it is a p-shop, but it's not...
M230K, I'm not sure, what I'd personally like to do is just keep the rear stock, but even out the front fender gap... I know quite a few 05's have lowered their cars with different coilovers and springs, so if you go to the official c-class post, that should be a good start.

The reason I like the clear is that it continues the line of the chrome strip in the side moulding. It also matches the wheel color better. The rims are exceptionally clean and the clear markers look clean also.
Something about the "smoke" look that appears dirty to me. Like I want to get a rag and spiff it up.
SMOKED on the dark color cars.
I put franks tinted side markers on my coupe, i get a lot of positive comments, but its a steep contrast on a white car. So i think i will set out for clears soon.
ALSO... IF anyone from So Cal (n.S.D.) could point me in the direction for the tint spray for the tail lights, it would be appreciated.

I have a light colored car (brilliant silver), therefore, I have clears on. It blends in pretty well. At the same time, it's functional at night and still reflects amber. Euros strips is not on my priority list at this time. Money going to non-automobile expenses.

I wasn't really a fan of the Euro strips, but now, I'm starting to feel them a lot more... But, I'm in the same boat, they're not really a priority at this time and this "mod" cost me less than $15 to do.

So that's what you did with them...I'm impressed. Hobby People, huh? The one accross from Westside Pavillion?...LOL...That's a trip. Did the same thing back in the day with taillights that had orange indicators. We would paint the orange section of our taillights w/ Candy Apple Red hobby paint and cover it with 3 or 4 coats of clear coat!...Oh, the memories.
Anyways, I think the smoked with the orange lens looks good and functional. I don't know if it was just the picture, but it looked like the Black paint made the color look a little more Red than Orange when the sidemarkers were lit up. Be very careful with that. Red light near the front of a car is a "no-no" and it could be more attention getting than you want. I'd do this for my car too, but since it's blue, it won't look as good on my car being "smoked".
Otherwise, it looks good. Sell your clear sidemarkers. I'm sure there are a few newbies on here who still need some.
