Actually, the law is for an Orange reflector. It's not required to have orange sidemarker lights. At least, that's what I've been told by both LAPD (cousin) and Sheriff (Uncle).

That being said, I've never been questioned about them ever! Even when I got pulled over for no front plate a LONG time ago, the Cop actually complimented me on how clean looking my car was and looked directly at the front sidemarkers and didn't say anything about them.

yup, just an orange reflector...

the w203's reflector/sidemarker is smoked and the M3's reflector has been changed to one that's colormatched black. never gotten a ticket for those items even though I've been pulled over quite a few times with them on or unrelated matters.

Never got a ticket for mine. I think the cop must be having a really bad day to write you up for no orange reflecter. I'm sure they don't know the CVC code for that off the top of thier head and wouldn't want to look it up. Anyways its a simple DIY fix if you ever did get a ticket. Maybe you should keep the orange ones in the car so you could swap them in before he finishes writing up the ticket.

Yeh, it is a nice cheap mod.
That and the clear fogs.
Awesome.

I put amber bulbs in as well.
Don't want to attract undue attention...
If they wanted to get real technical they could sit and write
me up for 10 different things.

That's the best way to stay legal, but I personally like the white bulbs in the sidemarkers.

Anywhere. The sidemarker bulbs are 194/168 wedge bulbs.

Front Side Marker Lights

Had a minor acident and I need to replace the right front side marker light, light socket and harness. Are the coupe and sedan side marker lights the same? The bumper cover is repairable, but if I found a good, used magma red cover for a coupe, I would buy it.

I broke my driver side one so I replaced them both with clear sidemarkers. I have my passenger side marker and light bulb still, its of no use to me. If interested, PM me. Doesnt include wiring harness or light socket, just the light cover and bulb.

Stoped by the stealer and the parking light was only $15 and he had it in stock. So I went a head and bought it. So after having my bumper 3/4 ripped off in a minor accident, the parts are $40, bumper body filler $18, and paint $30.

Nick, thanks for the help, but it would have cost more to mail it than buy it, to have it by Friday.

Would I get a ticket for not having those orange reflectors when I change to euro impact strips?

Only if the Officer who pulls you over 1) knows the Violation exists
2) notices that they are not there and 3) is in a pissy mood.

Otherwise NO.

Neither of my Benzo's have orange side markers. Euro impact stips on both.
Of the times I've been stopped never once did it even come up as a discussion point. Totally oblivious.
They don't draw attention, like the CLEAR side markers do.

Next time you're on the freeway, notice how many different makes & models of cars do not have an equivalent orange side marker. You will be surprised. If I were ever stopped on the side of the road specifically for a missing orange marker violation, I would stand there and call the officer's attention to every single car that drove by without orange side markers.

Do they have the extreme whites there also??? I use the extreme, I'm near there a lot, although they are cheaper from cardomain.com.

Clear Side Markers Help

I know this has been discussed a million times, but sorry, I've STFF, and big surprise, I found nothing after spending an hour scrolling page after page for this information.

I want to get clear side markers for my 203; I know there are the eBay ones, but a few friends of mine that have them have fitting issues. Though they "fit", it's a very loose fit. Is there anyone here that have a good set that fits snug?

Thanks!

they're not loose like u may think. they're pretty snug tight, they're just not ascompletely tight as OEM. they're decent and they'll last is all i can say.
