I dont think a pulley and chip will push you over the edge. Is your car a 6-speed? Is the WRX a 5-speed? I've seen anywhere from 5.4-6.2 seconds for the stock WRX and of course 7.2-7.8 for the coupe. Maybe if he runs slow and you run your best it will be close.

With a pulley you will have the same HP and more torque than a WRX and no turbo lag. The WRX is a litle lighter. You will be as fast or faster than a WRX except for one biggy, AWD. The reason the WRX is faster at 0-60 is that it can get an incredible launch by revving the engine high into it's power band with no wheel spin at launch. He'll be a few car lenghts ahead of you before you know what happened. The only way to compete is to get 4 wheel drive. This is not realistic power because you are not going to do this much except in a drag race. So the real question is once you are moving at the same speed as a WRX can you beat him with your Coupe and a pulley, like on the highway, yes, I think so.
The same issue always comes up about the BMW330, it's soo much faster than a C320 but that's not true, the C320 is faster than a 2wd BMW330i under the same conditions but BMW has an AWD model called the BMW330xi that will do 0-60 in under 6 seconds using the same principles as the WRX. In reality, the extra weight and friction from the AWD system would make the xi slower at highway passing than the 2wd model.

I've seen 0-60 on the BMW330xi at 6.2 at Motorweek.com and I've seen it even lower in other magazine but they are not in front of me now. Compare this to over 7 second 0-60 for the 2wd version. With an automatic it would be slower but with a manual trans you can do a wicket launch. This can't be good for the car but magazines don't usually care about the long term effects on the cars they borrow.

So what exactly have you done to your C-Class to make it faster? Which Brabus kit do you have, the K3 Pulley for 220 hp (sorry, won't keep up with mine) or the 2.6 for 250hp (BFD, I can get that with ASP pulley and chip). I just don't see anything that Brabus can offer me that is going to wow me. You probably don't even own an MB and you are just trolling from the Subie forums.

I thought that was pretty funny! I have seen that commercial, its pretty good.
Realistically, Brabus does bore to 2.6L, so if you combined that with the Brabus pulley (for 250 hp) and later addded a chip, you would be more the in 265-270 range. I guess you could then add the Renntech intercooler for another 15 hp. So then you could realistically be @ 280 + hp. BTW the BMW 330Ci RWD goes 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, not 7+.
Also I think the Brabus pulley is on par with ASP. 220 is probably a conservative rating. Besides, I think a long time respected and experienced tuner like Brabus knows a bit more about Mercedes tuning than ASP.

It's easy to critique a product when you are comparing it strictly to a name and you have no idea what you are talking about. Why don't they show us what they got, or is a name all they have? Do they make it themselves or outsource it to a pulley company like ASP? For $3,000 is their product legal or is it for racing and off-road use only?
I can throw names around too, AMG, why not get what the MB dealer sells, a C32. Why would anyone get Brabus C-Coupe with all the Brabus trimmings and settle for 280hp when they can have a 349hp AMG?

Out Of Control!!
Well, Buell, you could get the Brabus V8 shoehorned in there. That was what - 4.5 sec 0-60? And that was with the girly slushbox. So that's one Brabus pkg that no one can sneeze at. And I'd assume that should take care of a wrx with no problem.

I still prefer the Chrysler 426 hemi crate motor in the coupe. If you are going to be that bizarre, nothing has the credibility and status of a hemi in something small. Like the hemi-cruiser at http://www.hemicruiser.com/ If they can shoehorn a hemi in a PT-Cruiser (the car that Chrysler said a V6 won't fit in), then the Hemi-Coupe should be no problem.
Besides, the WRX can be made into a 4.5 second 0-60 car way easier than putting a V8 in a coupe. It's already a 5.4 second car, put in a better turbo, a larger intercooler, exhaust, chip, boost controller and it's very possible for about what a Brabus pulley costs.

Yeah you can do most of that stuff with the turbo audis too (S4, TT, A6. Bigger turbo, chip, intercooler, etc. As far as 0-60 just about any awd will be good. But once you get started its alot more even.

No but for real if u get a pully, chip, intercooler, exhaust, and go cheap with maybe 50 shot of nitrous u sould be able to beat him easy.
