and see what ends up. From the pics it looks nice, but sure to be a lemon with many problems. Looks like a great deal but I would never buy it, Nice profit this dealer would make. Fresh water? Yea right, give me a break

Lots of salvage parts, but I think at 20K that the bidding is up to, this one is starting to become a losing proposition, given that it always carries the salvage title.

08' BMW E92 Coupe
maybe someone is buying it to scam it. i remember going to an auction when i was 18 with a guy i knew, and someone there won on a Lincoln Mark VIII that went off the road and into a lake. car looked perfect until you looked inside and saw all the mildew and mold everywhere. i remember it went for a pretty penny and when we asked why he'd pay so much, he was talking about how they'll clean it up nice, fix it so it'll at least run, jack an identical car, swap the vins and sell it for top dollar. pretty common i've heard

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
I would not touch a car like this with a ten foot pole. The insurance company who totaled it knew cutting a $60,000.00 check was better than having it repaired. I bet the computers are toast, and the engine and tranny are flooded. They did a nice detail job for the photo's, but The only value in this car are the parts that don't matter if they get wet. The listing says there is no visible water line. Submarines don't have one either, because they are fully submerged!

as long as the electrical parts dried completly out before being powered up, everything should be fine, since it was fresh water. Although water in the engine, oh that sucks...
i personally would not buy it, but if i had a need for a parts car, or had totalled my car and needed a body, it would be a good buy.

Its things like body control modules, the ECU, miles of wire trunking, and the water trapped in them that's the big what if.
I certainly wouldn't bid on it sight unseen...at least for anything over say 8-10K. There's easily that much in parts in there.
