Cappa, you need more than the proper LED bulbs, you need a load resistor or else you'll get a "bulb out" warning on your mfd.

yeah i know that, but isnt that a small area to fit a load resistor. plus the heat generated from the load resistor may cause damage.

Hyper-White & LED License Plate Lights thread
I noticed a lot of the new lexus's license plate lamps seem to be a blue/white light....(back plate) it looks darn gorgeous on light colored cars (silvers, whites, etc)... and I was curious if anyone else here noticed?
I'd like to replace my license plate lamps to be this color actually.... it looks stellar... I wonder if it is standard on new lexus vehicles or if I just happen to be seeing a bunch of cars that have been modded (seems unlikely)...

I noticed it on the new GS and I thought the dude just put them on, but after seeing them on quite a few cars, I figured it was standard. I like it a lot!

All the new Lexus vehicles will use LEDs where halogen lamps used to be. Currently the new GS and IS have them on the rear plate. The GS at night as I think 12 LED bulbs in the interior, it looks stellar
