Yes, the Granite Grey looks cool. And so does the Mars Red! Two WHITE STARS have found homes on Mars Red cars, but these are the first pictures. Snazzy for sure!

We're finally starting to see these on cars other than black, white or silver. LOL!

Um, some of you guys need to edit your signatures to include "WHITE STAR Flat Badge."

Latest mod ordered! I've always felt the stand-up hood ornament on a AMG-ed E Class looked semi-dorky This part should look awesome on my white car.

Thanks, Rob!

As these are provided on a first requested basis, I ask everyone to write me an e-mail at dfwdude@comcast.net, so I have all the inquiries in one place. This way, I know I am fairly assigning serial numbers in the order received and paid.

Rob, the white star badge touched down a few days ago. It's nice, in fact, the quality and workmanship is somewhat better than I would have expected. Makes me think back to the days of my old W116 car when "quality" meant something. Truly a beautiful piece! Pictures to follow.

Just got mine, fits and looks great! I can't believe the craftsmanship, excellent job "DFWdude"

Because I had the flat hood star I had to clay bar and wax my hood where the old emblem was because of the ring left behind. 95% of it went away, but their is still one small area where I can still see it , but I had other people look and they can't see it . Thanks again!

Thanks for the comments, Belle. Indeed, if you have worn a SLK badge for years, some cleanup may be needed on the darker color cars.

There has been a lot of discussion comparing my WHITE STAR Flat Badge with the plastic SLK badge. My customers tell me the WHITE STAR Flat Badge shines more in the light.

So, I decided to test this by photographing both badges, shot in sunlight, to compare how both badges pick up the light, side-by-side. Obvously, the WHITE STAR Flat Badge is on the left, while the SLK badge is on the right. The facets within the WHITE STAR field do seem to catch the light more (by design), accentuating the white star and the contrast within the badge in general. But that is my opinion... you can be the judge.

DFW, maybe you can make two versions of the desk accessory ("paper weight?"). One that comes with the stand-up hood ornament for those who decided to keep their original hood ornament. And another version that consists of just a mounting base (without the stand-up hood ornament), for those who replaced their original stand-up hood ornament with your flat white star badge and therefore have an extra hood ornament laying around.

I keep the upright star intact so I can use it when the wife wants to go out to dinner. She likes to look at the Upright, while I couldn't care less.

She also likes nlpamg's Christmas tree ornament idea. Good out of the box thinking. I like the desktop stand also. When are you going to make these available, dude?

Mine arrived from DFWDude (Number 065) Monday, but I had to wait until yesterday to wash the car and install it.

Because the car is almost 4yrs old, with 71k on it, my original hood star needed some 'encouragement' to come loose. After getting it to break loose, installation time was about 3 seconds.

My first impression was that the nose of the car was definitely cleaner looking. My second impression was that washing/drying the front of the car will now be much easier.

The badge is definitely a nicely made piece. It looks like the piece that the factory should have made in the first place (although I understand that there are those who feel that a Benz is incomplete without the gunsight on the hood).

Thanks DFW. It's nice to see that there are still some people who take pride in what they do! (And thanks for the prompt delivery)

Thanks, dmatre. Your words make me very proud, indeed.

A member came by my home over the weekend and we installed a WHITE STAR Flat Badge on his CLK55 AMG. Here are some pictures...

Folks continue to e-mail me, asking how difficult it is to remove the upright star and install the WHITE STAR Flat Badge. So, I've compiled a sequence of photos, below.

In most cases, one can untwist the upright star with the thumb and forefinger. But in cases where the star has been on the car for years, a gentle nudge with a pair of pliers is all that is needed. Once loose, you can swap between upright and WHITE STAR Flat Badge in seconds...

Thanks DFWdude,
Yup, as you say, it's easy to install. Takes a total of 2 seconds flat, and it looks GREAT.
It's been a pleasure doing business with you.
Some pics to follow.

Thanks for the compliments, pjaysee! Now that picture posting has been restored to the forums, I'm hoping some of you who have recently gotten badges will post pictures. There are a few colors not covered, yet.
