Thanks, Phil. I've been thinking about this some more. By far, more of my WHITE STAR Flat Badges have found homes in the SoCal area than any other part of the country. Even though Phil gets around in MB circles, to say that he hasn't seen another WHITE STAR Flat Badge yet is a statement to it's exclusivity...

I'm sure we'll see plenty of them at the
Spring ROSE BOWL Mercedes-Benz Meet / May 12th

There's no such thing as unique in SoCal !

I said I've sold more WHITE STAR Flat Badges in SoCal than other places, but by no means is your market flooded. There are maybe 20 in your area. Aside from yours, you'll be lucky to see just one. Two and I'd be surprised. Not everyone with a Benz camps on these forums.

Not only are they rare, but they hold up really well. I got mine last August and it still looks brand new. Not faded like that plastic SLK badge that turns powder blue with time.

The dude could make 2500 of these and they would still be unique. I must have the only one in AR, LOL!

Thanks for the support. And yes, I think you are the only one in AR with a WHITE STAR Flat Badge. Can't imagine why, though, LOL!

Thanks for the great quality and super service!
My husband recently snapped in this white star hood badge. I love it!

I also have a 2005 ML. Will these badges fit the ML?
If so, I might ask him to get me another one.

Thank you.

Thanks for the kind words. Although I commit to shipping within 24 hours, I generally ship the same day if I get the order in the morning and I have WHITE STAR Flat Badges in stock.

I enjoyed questioning Carlos on why he wanted one of these, as I knew he drove a Coupe and these don't fit the Coupe. But once he told me it was a gift to you for your sedan, it all made sense, LOL!

Sorry, these won't fit the ML either, as they already have a flat badge. But they do fit any current vehicle (1998-present) with the upright star.

Shipping to Vancouver, BC, Canada

Has anyone living in Vancouver purchase the White Star Flat Hood Badge?

How did you pick up your badge?

I have contacted DFWdude and unfortunately he doesn't ship outside US.

Any suggestion? I think this badge will look great on the car.

Thanks.

dogwoodnil, I have a "White Star Flat Hood Badge" from DFWdude. He sent one to me last year. Maybe he's not shipping to Canada anymore. If you're wondering about the quality and installation, the quality is top notch and install is really simple. DFWdude told me it was the only one he has shipped to Canada at that time when I purchased it. Hope you figure out a way to get one shipped. Good luck.

Not that I am aware of. Can't wait to see pics of it on your car, because it appears yours and mine will be the only Desert Silver sedans with a WHITE STAR Flat Badge.

It's true I used to ship outside the US. The decision to cease is complicated, but revolves around two concerns...

1) I thought I had insurance and ability to track int'l orders, until one badge got lost going to the UK last Dec. USPS informed me that even though a tracking number is assigned to Global Priority Mail, it has no actual value, as USPS will not track such packages. Nor is there any insurance of any kind. I sent a second badge to the fellow in the UK... Either the first was genuinely lost, (which I prefer to believe) or the fellow played me for a second badge... I'll never know.

2) Because of my new job, I work 220 miles from home during the week, so I can't repackage badges for int'l shipment until the weekend when I get home. (Int'l packages require special boxes, plain brown wrappers and non-standard shipping labels.) Each takes time I don't have.

Further, I can't simply drop Int'l shipments in the Priority Mail slot at the P.O. the way I can with domestic packages... I have to stand in line with customs papers to see a postal clerk, etc. The only weekend time to do this is Saturday morning between 8:30am and noon, a VERY busy time at my local P.O. I have a weekly Saturday appointment elsewhere at this time. So standing in a 20-30 minute queue at the P.O. is not an option.

Bottom line, while I've enjoyed shipping packages around the world in the past, it's not a viable option at this time. I have offered to ship to any alternate US address that can then trans-ship overseas at their convenience. Sorry.

Ooops, I stand corrected. I don't think I've seen a picture of your car with the WHITE STAR Flat Badge... I ask customers what car they have so I can compile marketing statistics, but I don't pry as to color. Sorry I left you out... please forgive.

Hummell, your avatar pic gives the DS impression, and others have posted about your DS car, so I made a poor assumption in this case, too. LOL...

So, johncl, looks that there might be three of us then... you, me, and MB-BOB. Still a pretty elite group, especially in a moderator's social circle. (I'll catch hell for this... I can't believe I forgot MB-BOB. He talked me into this madness )

I guess if I see another Sport Sedan with the flat badge, I'll know it's dmatre. Oh well...being 1 of 2 isn't so bad.

DFWdude,
I know your time is precious, but it would be fun / interesting to see a line-up of all the MB models that are running with the White Star Flat Hood Badge.

# 1 - # 150 (or whatever the # is up to now)

maybe a project for a rainy day...

Carlos
