WTF?? Potholes or accident? Damn man, it would cost around 150 bucks to fix that. Is it replica LM6? I was running on flat tires at 40 mph for 6 miles, i just realized that when my friend honked me from behind. 2 minor bents. It was insivible and then i got it fixed.

New wheel and tire are ordered and on the way. The tire is bad because it split the cords from the impact. The bead is completly broken, not worth repairing

That must have been rough. Sometimes they are unavoidable, like when another car is along side, or invisible when they fill with water in a storm. Sorry you lost a rim and tire. A whack like that might have caused shock or mount damage. You will find out when you have the new wheel aligned.
As an aside, Mercedes does not approve of workshop repairs on tires, even tread punctures that are easily repaired. They also frown on any type of wheel repair, except emery cloth to clean the mounting surface.
You might want to send CALTrans the bill, my opinion is that every pothole has an "owner" and the owner is responsible to keep them off the highway.

This wheel damage was caused by a road hazard that would have been missed, had the DOT moved it to I-80.

Damn, I knew that the potholes around here (Northern California) were bad (and getting worse), but I didn't know they were that bad!
Caltrans definitely needs to know about that one - of course, how quickly they'll get to it is another matter. I'd try contacting Caltrans and see if they'll reimburse you at least part of the replacement cost - can't hurt.

i wish our roads were just as nice as other countries i.e. germany, japan, etc. the US used to have the best roads, but with the growing population of people and vehicles it's pretty hard to maintain a good highway.

Sorry bout that damage there. But you haven't seen potholes until you come to Houston. We have a reputation for having some rough roads.

Just found out I have a bent rim, too. Most likely from either 101 or 880 through San Jose. Back to the 18"s for a while.
So it's not only me. I thought I-80 was quite rough the other weekend, potholes everywhere. Wife said I just wasn't used to her truck's suspension. Fortunately, the motorcycle was still standing in the trailer, although it shifted a little from all the turbulence.
