DIY Changing Fog lamp Bulbs & W203/CL203 Fog Lamp Thread
That being said, I love my yellow fogs. I'm pretty sure there are a couple pics circulating with them on, although I don't think my car would be good to compare with.

As for bulbs, do you know about using the "wrong" bulbs?

I know, it's bad. But most of us are on a sled ride to hell anyways, why not add some fun to the trip.
No, this mod does not blind oncoming traffic, and it's improvement is only slight. But some of us just have to fiddle with things.

Simple instructions:
First, I washed the new glass and applied the protective film using a water and alcohol mixture to allow me some movement after laying the film on the surface of the glass. It took some stretching and "pushing" air bubbles out, but it was not hard at all. I let these sit for a few days to fully dry and at this point the glass was completely bubble free. Then I trimmed off excess and film around the edges got ready to install them on my old fog light housing.
I removed the broken/old glass from my fog light housings by removing the clips around the housing and pried off the glass w/ a flat screw driver. I took out the tan ringed section of the stock (not clear) fog lights and painted them with a black engine enamel so I wouldn't have any of the tan color showing after I installed the new clear lenses. (I imagine you can buy the "chrome" engine enamel to make it look stock)
I thoroughly cleaned the surfaces where the housing would meet the glass and applied RVT grey here to seal the glass and the housing together.
Thus far - My fogs have a little more black in them that no one notices (little painted rings), the fogs have not cracked or chipped (but have taken plenty of abuse via rocks), and there has been no leaking!! The protective film and RVT grey is definitely doing its job.
edit: you can see a bit of the black in my current sig...
Although my car is a 2005 C230 Sport Sedan, I believe this instruction will apply to all W203 Sport Sedan from 2005 and on w/ the AMG style bumper.
The driver side is alot harder then the passenger side so I will just describe the driver side here.. (because the driver side have the windshield fluid bottle blocking it).
- jack the car up.. much easier.. just giving you more room..
- remove the wheels.. again giving you much more room..
- remove the L-shape plastic panel on the lower part of the wheel well, behind the fog light. It is held in place by 3x10mm bolts (visible) and then a few more clips on the bottom. Remove it completely
- now.. you will discover this big windsheld fluid bottle just simply blocking everything and making your life really difficult!
- sandwich between the bottle and the fog light, looking up from the bottom of the car (behind the fog).. you will see two silver bolts which is 8mm holding the fog light in place.. use a combination of extension/flexhead/ 1/4" socket to get them off.
- Now w/ the two bolts out.. the fog housing should be able to come out from behind and drop to the ground.. but because of the bottle it will not have enough room...
- you need to remove a few bumper bolts... you DON'T need to remove the bumper.. there is a plastc clip in the wheel well, immediately above the L-shape plastic you just remove.. take the 1st (lowest clip) off which will allow you to see behind the bumper/fender. The side of the bumper and fender is held in place by a long (10") metal clip.. you will see a little screw near the wheel well, where the bumper and fender joint together. remove the screw and you will be able to remove the long metal clip
- there are 2 more screws... open the hood, right beside the headlight... (sandwich between the headlight and the nose mask.. very visible.. very easy to remove.. remove it!
- now the bumper should be semi-loose... very a little pulling and pushing the fog WILL come out from behind...
- I am sure you can figure out the installation by now....
Passenger side is easy as there is nothing blocking it..

I think it's easier if you remove the whole bumper. IMO . . .but still a very informative thread.
* yes.. it is true removing the entire bumper would make the job easier.. but removing the bumper is easiest done w/ 2 person to avoid scratching/cracking the paint on the bumper... so I kind of went with the KISS principal and minimize removal as much as possible
* the link have excellent information and very nice photos.. but just want to point out the non-AMG style fog light is ALOT thinner/slimmer profile and therefore a little bit of wiggling would get it out... the AMG style fog have a very "think" lens which make the entire housing alot bigger and the bumper is extremely solid which give little room for wiggling a bigger fog light..
just my quick 2 cents to help clear up information..
Does anyone happen to know the part # to the fender panel (picture link below)? I guess I didn't clip in the bottom clips, and the panel was dragging on the road for a few miles and looks like I'll need a new one.

Thanks for posting this thread.
Any ideas where and how much these are?
Im located in Sydney Australia, so somewhere that can ship internationally would help.
Thanks
