Steve, Your #6 mod Denso Iridium Plugs. Did you notice any difference. I know you have the M111 engine, I have the M271 engine with the Kleemann boost kit and k-box.(2005 C230ss auto) Do you think it would be to my advantage to change my plugs. What part# did you use Ik20, or IK16? I also plan on getting the Kleemann header and ECU upgrade as soon as they realse it.
You will want to use 4 Denso Iridium IK16s .

Well I guess thats good to hear because in that case I just saved myself some money. I dont mind paying for mods but when it really wont make a difference to my car the $500 or so(w/wires) does make a diference in my pocket. Thanks for the info.
I would like to get my car dynoed, but the race shop I deal with doesnt have the dyno machine in there shop. I wanted it dynoed before the boost kit and after but I would have had to gone to another shop of theirs.
Do you know if porting the supercharger on the m271 engine is possible. Is it the same as yours? I will wait until you get yours back and post the results anyway. Good luck

this thread is like a high school reunion....who nailed the cheerleader? whose in the halter top? try fuel map 2 for your next dyno, if you can get a star laptop for the run. I'm at 93k trouble-free miles with the ASP and level 2 since 15k. I have no idea if it helps performance, or just protects from lean. All good otherwise, new Konis are a blast. I'm keeping this car for a while, at least until the next CLK is here. Anybody going to Indy for the 500?

Why am I the only one who sees a huge drop out, under 4k, then a return to power? You feel this in the car right? One of the problems with mods is that the engine/ecu has to compensate, and it may not compensate enough. What can you say about this drop out?

As for ECU tuning, I spoke with Brandon at Kleeman the other week via email. He mentioned that the M111 engine wasn't worth ECU flashing.

I'm all for seeing how this turns out. Believe me, all for it, I just wonder what in the world is going on at about 3,500 rpms on your car.

I"m bumping this because I'm interested in the answer.

I looked closely at the graph. I think I may be looking at a Air to Fuel Graph, however, it clearly looks like a torque and HP dyno.

Any input on this?

Just been busy with work and everything (like my euro-trip this past 10 days). More posts on the other forum though.

I had my ECU done through CarLAB... which I just put back in tonight. The butt dyno says more power, but maybe still cutting out at the top end. I'll be getting another dyno done in the next couple days to see if everything is in order, and if I've got some more power.

Steve, not to be too tenacious, but do you have a response on your dyno graph regarding the dropout?

Hey, if you guys are cool with it, by all means, post the dyno sheet!

I tried to upload the hp/lbs dyno sheet but since I have already posted the photo in question in a thread I started in the R170 forum on the 28th of August, 2005 with the title "Update on Mods" it would not allow me to upload it to this thread. Please check it out. I am sending out a stock injector for flow testing before I go any farther. My car runs lean at the high rpm's. I am also looking at removing the stock 2" exhaust piping and use 2 1/2" piping from the down pipe to the muffler. I will also have a high flow cat installed. The car is 192bhp stock and I am at 200rwhp. I would say I am around 235 to 240hp and the torque is 208lbs at the wheels so for sure I am at 240 to 250lbs. The stock exhaust was really shaking hard when I had the header installed. Have any of the C class guys attempted the exhaust piping upgrade? Thanks.

Steve - Email is sent.

Ed/aecasasus - sorry, I'm not going to post actual dyno results until everything is said and done - right now things are still a work in progress. When things are done, I'll post any and all info that I've got.

I do keep a thread updated over at the other forum about the m271 pulley with most of the details though.

I can understand that. But realize that we all learn from this. The things that go right, and of course that which goes wrong.

when I put on my Kleeman Kit, I found out my supercharger had leaking seals. Who would have known?

No prob though.

Looks really good. This is simply the horse with old and new right? That dotted line is not torque. I'f im accurate, your HP went up monsterfully. How does the car launch?

Ed

Thanks for putting this out there.

Ed,

Thanks. Rwhp is at 200.1 and torque is over 208lbs. Before I installed the bored out throttle body rwhp was at 196 and torque was over 211lbs. Car is much faster than stock. Stock MB claimed the SLK230 in auto form was 0-60 in 7 sec. SLK320 same year was rated as 6.5 in the 0-60. I am guessing I am spretty close to 6 sec's in the 0 to 60. Someday I will get the G timer or whatever is out there. First I must finish making it fast, safe , and reliable.

Did you get the ported super charger back yet? Your last post you said the dyno was with the bored out throttle body. would you recommend a bored out throttle body for 2005 c230ss auto I dont mind if its only alittle hp/ torque increase but a lot of alittel mods add up.
Mods I have: Kleeman Boost kit w/K-Box
Mods soon to come: Kleeman header and ecu upgrade
Mods to think about: Porting of super charger, bored out throttle body
Would all these mods work out better once they are all done.
Do you know off any place in Long Island, NY that would do my mods to think about?

Pug,

Check out some of my older posts and you will find out the shop where I had mine bored out. What engine does your car have. Your mods are right on. I am in the process of getting my fuel injectors flow tested and this upgrade alone will really help with any lean issues at WOT. I am sure my injectors at WOT are getting close to or already are at max cap. Always ensure your fuel needs and before you do anymore upgrades you must ensure your exhuast side of the house is also modifed. The header will really help as well as a high flow cat/muffler. You need a high flow air filter. It has to breath and it needs to exhale just as much. Keep that in mind. I will not have the dyno runs done until I get the flow data from my stock injectors. Then with the ported supercharger I will dyno the car. If I have to replace my stock injectors it will be pushed back to the 15th of June. Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm bringing this thread up because I would like to see if Steve ever did a final dyno for his new injectors and the ported S/C.

I was looking up info on where to get my S/C ported, and it appears that my answer is a place called Steiger. http://www.stiegemeier.com/

I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say. I am not machinist, but I wonder, do they need some template of the mount that the S/C is attached to in order to do a proper porting?

I know that it will come up, why port for 4 horse? Mostly because If I have the part off, I am going to get it done right.

If you noticed on another thread I posted, I'm getting oil in the air line. My MAF was a mess. Last time this happened, it was the S/C seals. This time, I'll be doing the work myself, so why not get the S/C ported out. This action would jump over my plan for a header for my car, but right now work is on a what needs to be done order.

CLA,

The thread with my pics showing the oil in the MAF is here:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/170473-p0171-system-too-lean-obd-code.html

Some think it is a PVC valve issues, which could be, but it is hard for me to imagine that a PVC valve could emit that much junk into the line.
