after reading this post made me remember why i stopped posting here. all the non necesary sarcasm. obviously the dude is new to the forum and just made a simple question. atleast answer his question then with sarcasm.

but to answer your question. there isnt really alot of mods out there for the c240 due to the lack of demand of power that this car has. you can first start with some simple mods like changing your stock air filter to greenfilter or k&n.
you can get an exhaust later on but the price for the exhaust for this car is rediculous comparing to the amount of gain that you'll get. so you can get it custom and it will be just as good.

as far as turbo it is not really recommended due to the compression in this car is high. but im researching. i have a friend who has a performance shop which they do alot of custom turbos and i may go for it thats only if i decide to keep the car. most probably im not.

in overall the c240 is not the bad of a car performance wise. yea its a underpowered 2.6l but it can still hang with other cars.

i have beaten gs300 by 1/2 car length. once that happened i realized that this car is not all that bad (well mine c240 is 6spd.)

hope my little reply helps you out and welcome to the forum.

Mercedes is gone physically, but still in my heart.
It's ridiculous the amount of sarcasm one can receive for asking a question. My apologies to you from the majority of the forum, some people have no respect in answering a simple question.

Anyway, as yoyito said, it's not easy but besides a $15,000 Brabus upgrade, you'd be best off finding a Euro Performance shop that does custom turbo setups. I'm sure you could work some Garrett turbos with custom fabricated piping. Just research in your area and I'm sure you can find something, it won't be cheap though.

It's called respect.
The guy shows none for us by typing in caps, not doing a search and basically hoping that we'll hold his hand and show him everything. To me that's disrespectful.

Respect must be earned.

Some of you guys are great. I want to personally thank you for your responses even though it doesn't pertain me.

Every new member ask the first thing that comes to mind. That is why they enter this playground. Much like myself, walking in with my bone stock C230, I had questions. I asked and was basically told to STFU.

People come here to ask questions from YOU...because YOU have very nice rides. They expect YOU to have the answers because they figure since YOU have owned YOUR cars for a few months or a few years longer than them that YOU have talked to other forum memebers or shop owners about what is available. Take this personally because that is it's intent.

Take Sunman(sp?) as an example. Besides him, who here would have taken the time to compelely rebuild their whole f'ing car? Now how would YOU react if you asked him how he installed distronic and he told you "HAHAHA YOU TOOLBOX, YOU'RE TOO F'ING STUPID TO FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN? IF YOU WANTED DISTRONIC WHY DIDN'T YOU BUY A BETTER F'ING CAR?"

Point is lighten up on the new guys. You never know who's going to be the madman to come up with something you haven't thought of. Perhaps you've already scared a few off immediately after their first post.

I agree with some of the other posts. Yet no harmful intentions were meant. I know I've posted a few questions on here and to my surprises the responses were sarcasm and such. Again, my apologies. All in fun... hey good news!

TODAYS THE DAY I GET MY BADASSC230K! After nearly 4 months of waiting, its time. Wish me well!

As a moderator I would of atleast expected a different answer from you

I do agree with you. Typing ethics if you type in cap it means that your yelling.
But its a common error that everyone has done sometime. I even end up doing it by accident. By simply telling the guy to use lower caps should be plain sufficient.

When I first joined the forum I never knew the laws that you had to search before you ask a question which I bet alot of you people did not know aswell.

Like I said before on my prior comment I stated atleast try to answer the guy first and tell him about the ethic of using the forum.

I dont mind a little sarcasm here and there. It gives a little humor but some of the comments crosses the line.

I believe they call this common sense? Being polite? If you walk into WalMart do you just yell out "YO FOO, WHERE DAH DOAP BE @?????!!!?!?" or do you try to find it yourself first, and then ask someone politely if you can't find anything? The same rules in life apply on the internet.

But if I walked into a room full of MB owners and asked "what can I do to my car and where can I get it done?" and one of you answered me the way you have in here I'd be forced to smack the everlivin out of you for being an impolite *******. I don't care if there are pieces of paper all around the room with printed answers to my question. I enjoy conversation and searching these forums...well they suck.

**** on you people that expect people to do things "your way" because that's how you want it. It will keep happening until you make these forums private with a huge disclaimer page that reads "You must search the forums prior to asking any question. If you ask a question that already has an answer and you didn't properly address the search function there will be a knock on your door shortly with a midget to kick your ***** through the roof of your mouth." Until that disclaimer is implemented I with continue to be an advocate of dumb *** questions.

BTW, it is not common sense for a few people that writing in CAPS is the uberinterwed equivilant of yelling. There are some accounting programs you need all caps in order to operate the software properly...alt+tab to the forums...ask a question. HOLY PHUK I'M YELLING...AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Well said. I used to have a BMW Z4 and on the Roadfly forum they were rude if you had any contrary comments about their beloved vehicle, I thought it was the BMW mentality and arrogance. Up until now I found this forum to supportive, cooperative and a bunch of nice people with a common interest. OH, the ego's are running ramant here as well. Let's place nice and not fight. There is no prize or trophy being handed out to the winner of any debate. When we are cooperative and act like gentleman (no pun intended) and ladies we all win!!

OK folks, let's play nice, everyone (you too, Ricky). Let's just answer the poster's questions and suggest that everything noted can be found through forum search.

Unfortunately, searching will reveal that serious mods for the C240 will cost gobs of cash for not immense gains in performance. One would be better served spending the same money on a real deal C32 or C55 AMG.

I've done my share for the forum, what about you? or are you just here to go defensive on the old majority who have finally had it with folks that come here, never search, and post for instant gratification?

I'm looking out for the long term of this forum where we have members (as you said) conversing with other members, not "y0 wh3re can i find deez p4rtszzzz?????!??!1" as their first and last post.

it just seems like you have go through a **** fight first just to make a simple comment.

in every forum there will always will be sarcasm but there are some on here that i would of taken it as a slap on the face.

thats just my point that im trying to come across with. im not throwing personal attacks.

thats why i just move along to other car forums. it may not be a mb forum but they help you as much as they can.

well thank you all who helped answer my question and some of you do have points about me, being a newbie, but i am also a long member at other forums for PC, etc. and it would be better if you explained how to search the forum rather than rip me apart. And u also cant assume, that i just ask what ever questions i want answers, but i did alot of readin on this forum and all i read about is the e55 and amg's, etc. upgrades, and none for c240's.

It also depends where you are coming from. If your last car was an slk55, then you may not be satisfied with a c240. But if your last car was a Yugo(not that there is anything wrong with that), then you'll love the 240. Speed and pickup are relative. They're different things to different people.

But if I may say, I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD SLAGGING THE C240. CALLING IT SLOW, SLUGGISH, BLAH BLAH BLAH. THIS SH*T COMES FROM PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN OWN THE CAR. I AM SO SICK OF IT!!!!! ENOUGH!!! THE C240 IS THE BEST DEAL ON THE ROAD TODAY. AN MB WITH A SMOOTH AS SILK V6 FOR UNDER 50K ON THE ROAD(IN CANADA).

Out of all the c classes I have seen in TO, over 90% have been c240's, then 230's, then 320's. I've actually only seen 1 C320. For a car that's such a POS, with a slow as sh*t engine, it sure is popular amongst us morons in Toronto.

Why should I pay an extra 10 grand for 30 more HP? Does that really make any sense to anybody? The C320 is definately faster, NO doubt, but is it worth 10k? Not in my book.

Don't bash the car until you've actually driven it for an extended period. And until you've gotten a feel for it, and how to drive it best to get what you want.

BTW, Buellwinkle, Mach, this is not aimed at you.
I agree. I own a 01 240 six speed and it's fine for what I need it for. I know how to drive it, I love it and maybe one day I'll make some Mods. why can't we all be friends?

I found my C240 is not bad after engine & transmission are warmed up.

I have also experienced C240 can get up to 40MPH speed much faster if I started my car from gear 2 (auto - W). (Also, I get higher MPG mileage).

If I started my car from gear 1, it takes a more "total time" to get to 40MPH speed. Engine goes back to lower RPM between gear, so I spend more time getting engine from lower RPM to higher RPM between gears.

Anyone want to try this?
Sorry, I might be totally wrong. But I want to find out if that is true or not.

Wow, this is really interesting. Well being a 240 owner, as well as a c55 driver, I must say that without a sprint booster, the 240 lags the get up that you want in acceleration. I would not pay 6k more for a few horses, might as well stop whining and get a c32.

ALSO lets remember that the 240 never claimed to be anything fast. It was/is sold as a mid sized sedan, It does what it needs to on the highway, but I agree if your looking for 1/4 times. FORGET IT.

Lets put this one to rest, for one the tables did turn when you bashed the 320's - and really took this subject to heart. Point blank, the 240 is slow if you don't know how to work the gas pedal, and when it is modded, don't expect it to improve much when you finally do.

Just my .02 - c240 & c55 owner.

BUT, with UDPS and ECU, it's now sport sedan...
