Its the same engine as the C320, pretty much anything made for that will work.

Or, if you are really adventurous you could also seek out a junked C320 and swap the heads and overbore you cylinders..., or swap the entire motor.- If you went to the max bore size, you'd probably get another 60HP over the stock C240. Get a bottle. Or a supercharger.

Disregard overboring the C240, IIRC, someone here stated they change displacement through a longer stroke, not bore size. Bummer.

C240

Drove a 05 'C240 today. GREAT CAR. I love it. The close ratios in the tranny are great for city driving. It's damn quick too. So I have a few questions. Is there a diff in the mechanics in the 01-05 C240? And what can I do to add more power. Please list possiblities guys. Thanks.

The forum does not suck. Just that most of the people here are tired of answering the same repeated questions all the time.

I feel the same when I post in e46fanatics just because I dont have a e46.

To my knowledge the engine has not changed. I havent gone to the dealer to test drive it.

I have a C230k and a 325ci. I post here and i post at e46. To be frank, this forum has no patience at all. Im not taking sides. Ive owned 2 benz and been here before everyone was banned.

When you ask a question here, you either dont get the answer you want or you get some telling you to search. Why dont you mods just take away the ability to post. The w203 has been here since 01 and every topic has been touched on. We dont need to post, just have the search option. Ive been told to search all the time and its really annoying. We have topics here from 3 months ago on the 1st page. Just had to vent.

Ddrango, dont get upset. I always ask my benz questions on E46 anyways. I just come here to read new things. or atleast hope to see new post.

Kenzmbz, you should search the posts he asked before, he asks the same questions for like 4 or 5 times already, at beginning everyone answered his question, but come on, after 4, 5 times the same question ? last post he said he was going to get a C230 because C240 sucks, now ? people are getting tired of his questions

I believe you make some very valid points. Members and mods need to be more tolerant of questions asked here. I've been modding this forum for 4 years now, so no one can be more bored with the repetitive questions than me. But frankly, when a new member joins here, the questions they ask are the first time for them.

There is a delicate balance between searching the forum for topics previously discussed and asking repetitive questions. I'd like to see everyone give new members a little slack, saving the STFF remarks for when someone shows a pattern of asking questions when a similar thread three below it addresses the same topic.

Truthfully, most all the relevant questions about the W203 were asked and resolved at least once before mid 2002. So if you joined after then, and now consider yourself a veteran, keep in mind that I had to put up with your silly questions when each of you first joined as well. So, Let's all be a little more tolerant, please...

A voice of reason

What fun is there in joining a community if all you're gonna do is search and scan? It's much more engaging to get answers to the really gnawing questions, even if they've been answered before, and then learning to use the search. If a pattern of idiocy or provocation emerges, as it seems to have with this clown, ignore and/or yell all you want...

Cheers all.

Don't agree with you, e46fanatics don't tell you to STFF, they just do the bashing and throw flames at you.

Top speed is 142mph...0-60mph in 6.5secs...so i would tell all of you to STFU but the mod is a nice guy. you people should all pray to God and ask for forgiveness. all i do is ask a question, A NEW QUESTION ABOUT MODDING A C240, and this is what happens. shut up now and stop wasting the forum. IF SOMEBODY WOULD OF ANSWERED, WE WOULDN'T HAVE 2 PAGES OF BASHING AND/OR NEG COMMENTS. STFU PEOPLE, THANKS MOD.

01-04 should be pretty much the same, but the '05 I am not sure on. You can surely add things to the car to spice it up a bit, but my first question would be your budget. What are you looking to spend on upgrades? What kind of power increase are you hoping to achieve? You have options with filters, pulleys, chips, exhaust, etc. It all depends on what you want to spend. Check out some tuner sites like Evosport and browse for your particular model. I hope this helps....

I love you Johncl. LoL not in that way. Yea, I'lll have a budget. Basically, I'm searching for the right car. Once I get it, I will have the whole Brabus treatment on it. All the necessary parts. So I'm saving for that, but those are merely appearance, such as emblems, grills, body parts, interior, etc.. For the exhaust, and intake, I can do a custom job on it myself. But chips, which is basically it that's affordable right now, is the other stuff. Heads, and intake manifold, would be a lot of dough on these car. I've looked at a Kleeman Kompressor kit, $8,000 roughly. LoL! wow. So yea. My first major things will be plenty of little things. Then I'm stuck on if I should lower it or get the wheels first. Prob the wheels, s oI can set the suspensio naccording to them right?

..regarding the bashing, Im suprised that one benz owner on a benz forum would degrade anothers car. I remember when there was always a mutual appreciation and respect between enthusiasts, regardless of year, or type. Since I decided to see what a mercedes forum was all about, I discovered that I better be carefull about showing enthusiasm for my own car, a meek and lowly c240. Its just not a very good car, and apparently barley qualifies as a mercedes... now if it was a c230 compressor, that seems to amount to somthing, but still liable to be harassed by a big AMG guy..oh well, I probably wont visit these sites much anymore, as Im typically left feeling bad about a car I probably paid too much for anyway. Auto enthusiasm has seemingly narrowed into clicky pissing matches about who bought a better version of the same car. I like my C, and I love German cars, but I think twice about nodding to the driver of a "superior" model, as he's probably thinking, " poor sucker bought the cheap one, and look at his envy" I do, however, see the occasional Harley biker wave at the guy riding the lowly honda, just because they're bikers...age group maybe?

Yeah, Kleemann is alot of dough and I personally would not sink that into a 240. There is alot to be done to these cars and some are cheap some not so cheap. Go to the C-class picture thread to take a look at wheels, there are alot of folks that have awesome wheels and have posted many pix. Do a search for LorinserCclass he has done some awesome mods to his car. Good luck finding the right car and once you do, happy modding.
