Does MB have any "recent college grad" financing plans/ options / discounts?

If you include Chrysler in that, then yes, they have one.

I don't think that Benz has anything even remotely close to a college grad program. I think there's an employee program, but that's it. If you notice, these programs are usually reserved for cars not selling well at mostly American brands, which means that you probably don't want to buy these cars anyway.

Benz does not believe in such things. "Discount" apparently does not translate into German. The employee purchase prices are very attractive, though.... even below dealer invoice!

Not hoping for anything outrageous.... maybe a couple $100 off... or 90 days before payment is due....

Well, if you're going to compare the ccoupe to the makes that you just mentioned, the ccoupe is more than a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the comparable models from each of them, if they have anything comparable (Lexus' would be the IS300, I guess, which is still a 4-door), so you could say that MB's discount beats the others'.

Count your blessings - I was happy to get an '83 Saab 900S when I graduated, all those years ago...

In our household, the "c" stands for "college", as in the Mercedes we buy while we are paying out college tuition. The annual tuition represents the equivalent of a nicely equipped c-class sedan, every year.

After the kids are educated, maybe we'll move up the line.

(In my college days, I paid $200 for my first year at Cal State Long Beach. But then, my transportation that year was my bicycle or girlfriends car.)

Cal State for $200, that must of been way back. It's a whopping $1,744 as a resident. Of course if you live in CT then it's way more. I don't know about you but my C cost me a little more than four years at Cal State Long Beach. But I didn't go to college so I can spends my money on sumtin more practical like a Benz!

Cali is still a great deal on college tuitions. I did tell Junior that if he transfers to the local state college, instead of the 33K/year, he could get that BMW he covets. But, still opting for an ivy education, so he gets to drive the hand-me-down camry when the coupe arrives.

(Pleasantly, tho, the c-coupe is less than my last MB, an '85 300TD)

Heck, my C-Coupe is cheaper than my car from 10 years ago, a '90 Acura Legend Coupe (stripped model with 5 speed), cheaper than my last car, '98 Mustang Convertible and cheaper than the '98 Pontiac minivan we had. It's just a bargain. My '84 190D costs pretty close to the new C-Coupe at 24k. The funny thing is that I can more afford it back then when I made half as much. It must be my teenagers bleeding me dry.

As an employee of a Mercedes dealer, I get a discount. On new cars, I pay $100 over dealer invoice. On used cars, I pay $500 over what the dealer paid for it. On parts, I get cost plus 10%. Still not a bad deal.

When I was in college, I had a budget. It left me $20 to spend on weekends on myself. When I got my first job, new apartment, starter car, grocies, etc. I still only had $20 left to spend on weekends. Years go by, 4 jobs later, I'm senior staff at a Fortune 500, with a big house, two cars, etc... and I just did my budget. I have $20 to spend on weekends.

Hmmm... Nothing changes. :p
