yeah these are for the m111, but if you guys at TVT could fab up some good headers at a reasonable price im in along with the pulley and intake you are making. Let me know what else you have in the works for the m111 engine and ill be happy to try them out.

Yeah if you guys come up with a "Performance Package" for our M271, I'm sure there would be a good number of interested people, myself included!

ebay headers arent actually all that bad... there is a following amongst E46 M3 owners... everyone is having great fitment with them as long as they are using the factory gaskets

cat size?

I have cl203 with stock diam of exhaust is 2", the cat and resonator is 2.25", I am thinking about replacing the cat with high flow and removing resonator along with muffler installed. What size cat should I get, 2.25" or 2.5". Someone else with the same car replaces his with 2.5", the guy there told him it would be better. Both cats are about the same price and both are high flow cats, which size would be better. Hopefully here I can get an answer, i posted in the w203 exhaust thread and mb performance section, no luck.

Thanks,

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
All the same, all junk, and all for 2.3 not 1.8 L.

This is something I'm interested in too.

What brand of high flow cat are you going with?

So the resonantor delete is going to give you car more of a growl right?

IDK how big it is but...

I replaced my secondary with a magnaflow race cat

Res. delete will give more of a growl....especially with a new muffler

I can check on the box when I get home to see what size it is

Its not CA legal btw

im looking into getting magnaflow

now im thinking about just getting the whole exhaust to be 2.25 all the way from the headers, going dual so im not sure if i will have room for the resonator. I might fit one in if its too raspy

i would go with the 2.5 if you plan on doing any mods to the engine in the future. Usually for NA 2.5 is a good overall size if your going to mod it.

yeah but this isnt a NA engine, i know that's good for those engines but is it good for a Supercharged engine.

Also I'm in TX, so I'm not worried if its not CA legal.

yeah mistake, i thought you had the v6. Its even better for supercharged engines, FI engines benefit more in the relief of backpressure. I would definately go with a 2.5 since its supercharged.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
You run into a problem selecting an aftermarket exhaust for Mercedes cars because the factory engineering is very good, and there is scant little performance to be squeezed by changing parts.

Mercedes is running in front of the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) steam roller, and knows it will be flattend like a dead cat if they don't squeeze all possible performance (and fuel economy) from the smaller engined cars.

Now a lot of folks like to make a fashion statement by changing to a new muff. Nothing wrong with a cool look or a nice tailpipe note.

There is an AMG kit to add quad pipes to a W203. I am not sure if they also specified one for the Coupey's. That is the only exhaust system I would consider for a Benz.

It really depends on the exhaust. Sport exhaust is wider than some others. coupe exhaust differed depending on c7 package or not.

Main thing is, if you really want to know what you have specifically, why not measure yourself? It's not that difficult. get a measuring tape, put the car up on a jack, go under the car and see what the approx. diameter is.

sorry drex but if you read my previous posts, the stock is 2. I dont have the c7 package and i will be replacing my cat and muffler, delete the resonator and going dual tips, wanted to know what would be better setup to go with. Since aftermarket headers are 2.25, so i do that?

My bad, didn't even read through. I'm figuring the threads were merged since the cat had to do with exhaust.

Anyhow, if you don't have c7 and you've got 2.0 diameter all the way through, I'd say go with 2.5 or 2.75 (max). 2.5 would be standard upgrade in diameter for most peeps that have c7 or sport sedan exhaust on the m271/m111 engine.

Hope that helps.

Anyone know the diam of the supersprint header's outlet. I looked but no luck.

Anyways, the other headers i've seen are 2.25"

header 2.25"?=pipe2.5"=hi flow cat2.5"=muffler 2.5" inlet= dual outlet 2.25" with tips running to look like dual exhaust
Magnaflow high flow cat and muffler will be use, So this will the best set-up?

thanks again
