Can you post some pics of the back of your car so I can see in many angles the tips of the exhaust? (I'm looking to see if there are too long for my taste).

What made you decide you to put the front silencer? How is the sound compared with stock without resonator?

Best Regards.

Ruben.

Remus is a good replacement for stock, probably a little quieter than stock at first but after a few thousand miles it's about the same.

Quieter????

I was looking for something louder than stock, and with more bass (a lower tone).

Then brabus, kleemann and of course remus are quieter than stock?

Suggest me: with middle silencer or without it?

Best Regards.

Why not just get an Eisenmann instead, then?

Sound is much louder (and better, imho). And it looks just as good.

Because I can get the DTM version for 250€, but if it has to sound quieter than the original without resonator, I will keep stock.

Best Regards.

It will seem quieter because your current exhaust is broken in and it will take the new exhaust a few month of driving to break it in. You could put a microphone by the exhaust tip and attach that to the stereo somehow and then you'll be able to hear it better or you can go with a louder exhuast.

Your right, a microphone is too much work, how about using a long dryer vent hose from the exhaust back into the cabin, that will give a nice tone, just keep the windows open so you don't die.

rubensans,
i'm gettin' remus exhaust next week.
going to try without front resonator first and see how it sounds.
if it's not as loud, then i can always add front resonator later.

If there's a Remus, is there also a Romulus? Then it would be a twin exhuast. OK, enough ancient Rome humor.

Quote: thank you Lihn, thats a big relief, coz I herd the eisenman in a slk320, and it sounded like race car(great) but not practical for every day driving!
The race is fine for everyday driving - I've had mine on for several months now, and always have the windows down. Be a man!

What is a good and affordable exhaust?
OK I was thinking about getting a new exhaust or something, I want my car to have that cool deep voice :p
I did search the forum and found many kinds like Carlsson, lorinser and kleeman… maybe some others too.

Btw I’m not thinking about the HP incensement, but if there will be any then that’s cool too. I just want something sounds good and easy to install so the garage wont mess with my car. And Oh, I’m keeping my stock rear bumper...

I would love to find a muffler that looks like the brabus, carlsson and the high priced mufflers at a lower cost that does not sound like an import....

Most of the tuner exhausts are made by Sebring. They use the Remus name in the retail markets. The only difference is the logo on the tips and the price. It's a nice quiet muffler, a decent replacement if you are having trouble with your factory muffler. After a few months it will become as loud as stock with a slightly deeper rumble but you have to have your windows open or be in an indoor parking structure to tell as it's very subtle. A better muffler is the Super Sprint or Eisenmann for a little more rumble.
