Laugh all you want, but those ground wire kits actually do work well on a lot of cars. I doubt that they would do anything on a well designed car like MB, but I've seen hp increased over 10whp after installing regrounding kits on modded jap vehicles.

someone should email the seller and ask him for the dyno since he claims that it increases HP

I'm thinking this is possible but is probably not the best idea. I just wanted to get some more opinions. I want to keep it sounding near stock if possible so why not experiment with the stock muffler? I have the tips that curve down. What i was thinking about was to get them cut right before the started to curve and welded a nice tip on one (the left) and on the other, weld on a pipe similar to that on the weltmeister and carlsson setups to the other side with a tip on it also. The only thing is that the tail pipes on the stock muffler are 2in, which would make that pipe going to the other end 2in. I'm thinking that won't be an issue since it's just the a tail pipe. I tried to do a little sketch up here to make things clearer:

In the end i'd like to end up with something like this:

can be done and has been done. I had a dual exhaust like that in your picture made last year before I got the weltmeister. Just go to a reputable shop so they don't *** up your car and knows how to trim your bumper for the exhaust tips.

Yea, i know you had it. It was a set up with an OBX muffler right? My only concern was using the stock muffler and the size of the pipe going to the other end. I wonder if i'd lose any flow with having an almost 90 degree angle coming out of one of the stock tail pipes.

I do, but the pre MY 04.5 sport models still have the same mufflers as the luxury models with the stupid curved tips.

All Weltmeister quads like the one you have are only "quad look" right?

all the quad exhaust on the market for W203 are for look only. The only true quad exhaust with dual muffler is the one from the C55, but if you run that you'll loose too much back pressure.

I think you should be okay even with the stock muffler, but the stock muffler is very long which might not have space for you to bend the pipe.

Have you ever checked with any of the vendors. There are a ton of vendors that sell the mercedes specific tuner products.

exhaust setup on c230k coupe

i wanted to do a dual exhaust on my with amg mufflers but reading some of the threads about back-flow problems. so if i take the resonator off it will be a lil louder but what about that and a high flo cat. would there still be problems. so what about one muffler with the tips y-ed to make it look like dual, saw that on another car here. let me kno and thanks

You'd have to basically do a setup like the one i sketched up a few posts up.

Did you read through this official aftermarket exhaust thread? It's quite possible your answer is in here. Just have to read through. This was compiled from close to 90 threads made talking about "aftermarket exhausts".

Thing is, you don't need 2 mufflers to do a dual/quad split exhaust. The only w203 that has 2 mufflers is the C55 because of the need, not because of the looks.

It's pretty simple, if you go to a good muffler shop. The stock or even AMG exhaust muffler has 2 exit pipes coming out from the muffler. You use one as the left side and have the new tip attached/centered. With the internal exit pipe, you have the muffler shop custom make an extension pipe that will run across your back bumper with and make a custom hanger/bracket for the right side. It would be highly suggested that you have the right side exhaust hole cut prior to doing this.

That's it. Hardest part is finding a good muffler shop to do it.

all W203 sedan exhausts will work.

not too many bolt-ons, most of them require for you to cut the muffler off and clamp the new one on.

Exhaust?

Hey all, I currently have some tips on the stock exhaust system of my C240, and was wondering what options I have modding it. I would like it to be louder, right now its...um...lacking, lets say, a nice throaty sound, but performance is also a concern. I have heard that if I do a real exhaust modification I would need to change the air intake system to compensate. Right now I am running K&N filters.

I dont know too much about modifying the car, so any information would help.

Thanks
