W203/CL203 Aftermarket Exhaust Thread - All you want to know
ok went ahead and got a glass pack from a shop and got it installed... and man... did it change the sound.... still toned... but controlled... i say 70% better than before... i definitely suggest with a magnaflow muffler.
i just hated the drone sound on the hwy... with the 7th gear engaged... low rpm... around 65 - 70 mph. now thats all still there but.... but with out the drone. love the set up now... never would think twice and wished i had remus or amg
clk430 backpressure
I took off the resonator, put a K&N filter, and replaced the muffler with a straight pipe. The result wa a very nice sound however I lost tork and downshifting response.
What should I do. Put the resonator back.
Put the resonator and the muffler.
Take off the secondary cats and keep the resonator.
I also have a supersprint muffler that I had on a golf gti would that create any problems.
thanks

On the C240 if you were to unbolt the resonator from the catalytic converter can remove the exhaust system without cutting the muffler from the back? From the cat back is it one continuous unit? I am looking at the Remus Exhaust system with the mid pipe and the muffler and it clamps together instead of welding and I would like to do the install myself, but I don't want to do any cutting.

not sure if Remus makes a cat back tho. You can order supersprint that way with supersprint's resonator and muffler.

That Supersprint is, no doubt, a fine exhaust.
It’s probably more cost effective to source a competent shop to achieve the appearance you seek. OE MB systems tend to be highly efficient. Horsepower gains from aftermarket exhaust are typically nonexistent, but don’t let that stop you.

you already know what to do if the tips are too big for the opening of the bumper. just find a good place that can make the cut clean when you need to.

what answer do you need? you searched via Supersprint North America's site. It should be the correct muffler. If you are not sure then search again via supersprint.com Their main national site and match part number.

the angled square tip looks like the og C36 AMG tips from back in the day. the angled square looks great on a C-Class... just not a w203, a w202.
