What did I tell you in another post? Sheez. You don't have many good options. A previous member just put in the full Kleeman kit for the M271 engine, but he has yet to come back with power results.
I think Tifosi or Tifosiv (sp?) had the full Kleeman kit too. You can try pm'ing him directly.
Honestly, use the search feature, look up Kleeman pulley, then Read to your hearts content. Lots of fun stories and info.
In my opine, you should get some 17" rims, and the best tires you can afford. If you still have the stock Michelin XGTs on the car they leave alot to be desired. Do immediately check the service records to insure all the services are current. Look at the coolant, oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid. Go nuts getting familiar with your engine. Just don't take anything apart until you have the right tools and the knowledge to put it back together again.
Pay attention to people's sig lines, and aks those that show performance mods what they thought of what they put on. I'm huge about wanting to see before and after dyno's. This will tell you if the mod was all gain, or simply a trade in where the power is.
Good luck.

You bought a heavy (3400lb+) car with a small SC I4 engine, so keep that in mind when looking around for parts. Most cars in the same category are either turbo'd I4s or V6s and much better basis for engine performance. Mercedes made this engine to be quiet, good on fuel, and have little vibration.
There is very little available in terms of engine performance for the M271 1.8L engine. A full Kleemann install will run $5K and get maybe 30-40 rwhp/tq. You can try variations, yet because a tuner has not cracked the Seimens ECU, there is an upper limitation of how much power can be generated before the ECU pulls the timing and you lose all power.
There's lots of performance mods you can do, yet it depends on how far you want to go, bolts on or custom.
Bolt ons:
OD SC pulley (Renntech, Kleemann)
filter (K&N, Green)
colder plugs (NGK, Iridium)
header (Kleeman, Carlab)
high-flow cat (Kleemann, Carlab)
cat-back exhaust (Remus, Eisenmann, SuperSprint)
larger IC
better intake piping
Custom:
resonator delete
SC port (8-10 hp/tq gains)
TB bore (57->59.5mm)
Alternatively you could tackle the drivetrain:
lightweight wheels
3.67 rear (sacrifice high-end for faster acceleration)
This forum is more concerned with styling mods, other forums will be more informative for performance mods. Evosport was involved with performance mods for this engine yet they have seemed to let it slip, and due to sponsorship reasons on this site, its difficult to discuss the competitors products.

pshek swapped a AMG SC 3.2L V6 into his W203 and another member (pudgy?) has swapped a AMG 4.3L V8 into his WB W203. Both are $10K+ swaps due to all the electronics that must be swapped, and must be purchased new since they can only be programmed with < 1K miles on them.
Swap is out of the question unless you've got a ton of cash, if so Brabus will gladly swap in a 6L and you'll have ***** of fun!
Sell your car, buy a 2002 with the SC 2.3L, or buy an AMG with the SC 3.2L. Pull it, PnP it, bore it out, upgrade the SC to something bigger, then throw on every bolt on you can find. Should be good for 300+ rwhp if built properly.

You already asked this question...
and it was answered....

and apparently in 20 other threads....
and I see you're asking the same question on mbklasse.
It all just depends on what you want to spend.

hey jeff man, you can squeeze power out of this c230 of yours, but it requires cash. like I have said to you, might as well start out with a straight pipe and a nice clean exhaust. then pulleys, headers then chip it. if not, be like italianstallion and throw in a 100shot!
