W203/CL203 City Light Thread (LED, HID, bulbs) - All you want to know
outside of that- what they are doing sounds legit. they are just trying to keep from having to pay out a large check that you are going to keep rather than actually getting the car fixed. that's what state farm did for me when i hit the deer. they had me come to them for the adjustment- they cut me a check on site. they gave me a list of the shops they liked, but told me to take it anywhere. if the check they gave me wasn't enough- all the body shop had to do was give them a call and the money would be sent out- no problems, and i didn't have to deal with it. i didn't argue when i hit the deer- because i knew i could do all of the repairs- so i just kept the $2k they gave me, spent $500 on parts and a little beer, fixed it myself and pocketed the rest.
i had a wreck in my focus once- they did the same thing. the shop i took it to needed more money. they just called my insurance company- and they sent out the money to the shop the next day. no problems for me to deal with.
remember though- just because it's a mercedes dealer, doesn't mean you are getting better body work. a good body guy is a good body guy- reguardless of brand.
so what do i do tomorrow when i go let them check it out? do i accept the check, or do i tell them that i want to see my adjusters report, along with getting more quotes from other repair shops? i'm thinking 2020 auto in LA, heard they do great work. should i also find a MBZ certified body shop? let me know

Just dont feel like your pressured into accepting the check.
Make sure you receiving the amount you should. You can only really tell if your getting the right amount by getting quotes from independent sources.
its a lot of work, but you'll thank yourself in the end. Its corny, but its best to do things slow and do it right. Then do it fast and have regrets later, especially when it comes to money.
As of the dealership, you know how much they will charge and what they will add up with the other BS.
Hopefully everything works out. Keep us updated and hope to see you up and running.
