Mods tell you to look in the DIY sections for help and not to make a new post....
Well this thread is a big clutter. Looks like Mu9enx thread was merged in here for some reason??
I think the mods need some training of their own....

Doesn't it go like this, If it says D.O.T approved then they are legal right?
So all we have to do is get D.O.T approved lights?
But this is the same guy who told me this.
"My understanding is that NHTSA has threatened to fine sellers of "HID conversion kits" $10,000 per kit sold. You CANNOT install a HID bulb in a headlight designed for a halogen bulb. There is no way you can control the light output properly and you end up blinding oncoming cars and you cannot see properly yourself. Read the fine print on some of these websites selling them..not legal for on-road use....where else do you use a car? They are an illegal & unsafe install. I park any car I find using them."
How true is this?

Ive never heard of HID conversion kits being illegal and/or fined 10000 for it? thats crazy and that number is way to high for a fine, haha...and ya i got a ticket when i was young for my fog lights having a 2nd bulb that was blue on them when they were turned on...in fact it wasn't even my car it was my dads and he installed them after purchasing from autozone or something...but htey were beach cops aka dick heads with no lifes hence why it took literally 3 of them to pull me over for "illegal fog lights" haha! give me a break!

take a flat head to the part closest to the rearview mirror and pop down for dome...and the courtesy they pop out from the point closest to the door hinge...those are easy and the bulbs that go into the courtesy are 194 bulbs!
I also purchased a set of 16 LED city lights from ebay that claimed no error and 1 week into it they show no error and no flicker...i'll keep posted! they are the ones that were like 29.99 or something like that...

What do you guys think of these led's:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/L-1055-2-PCS-T10-...ht_3100wt_1165
There are 7 leds in the assembly, so they should distribute the voltage and led's are definitely brights. Has anyone tried them and would you recommend them?
If not, what should I be looking for to get white, bright city lights?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I've gotten a tremendous amount of helpful information from this forum, so I'm attempting to give back by sharing a recent purchase I made. Please forgive me if this is a double post, or if I'm violating any forum rules.
I learned, from previous posts, that the SMD LED bulbs eliminate the need for extra electrical modifications, so I went ahead and purchased a pair of "GP Thunder SMD 194 LED Lights." I originally saw the LEDs on eBay (seller: premierteknet112222), but later found out that the seller is a warehouse located in City of Industry, CA. Since I live in Walnut, I drove over and made the purchase in person.
I pulled the halogen bulbs out with pliers and installed the LEDs (PnP). Fortunately, NO error messages showed up.
I've attached some pictures of the LEDs in action. The LEDs are actually white in color, though my camera makes them look blue. My low beam bulbs are "Luminics Krypton Titanium White H7s," and my high beam bulbs are "PIAA Xtreme White Plus H7s." Please let me know if more pictures are needed. Thanks!
Here is the link to the LEDs I purchased:

P.S. The warehouse manager charged me $18 OTD for 1 pair of LEDs. He kindly said that a group discount for bulk purchases is available. Also, I bought the 9LEDs/bulb version, but there are also 5LEDs/bulb and 25LEDs/bulb versions available.
