What 350Z owners think of the C230!!
Well I was over at the Nissan 350Z forums and came accross this posting.Just thought I would share this info. I used to own a 2004 Nissan 350Z so I am a member of that forum.

wow, bashing with no creditable background to back it up at its best. Likely a bunch of rice boys behind the keyboard.

I don't like driving a car that's built from recycled materials.
A C230SS with all more common options such as heated seats, Bi-Xenon etc, here costs around the same as a 350Z if not more.
I would get a 350Z if I want to get some cheap horsepower instead of spending an extra 10-20k to get a c55 or even a used 996.

I find that funny too. The C230 is the base C Class but to call it a poor mans Benz aint right at all. After driving my 05 Altima and then my new Benz, I put my Altima for sale because I don't want to drive it anymore. There is no comparison. I know this is only the Altima and not the 350Z but same make. Isn't Nissan just a poor mans Infiniti. I can say this too because I own one of each. They are decent cars but there isn't any comparison. I personally don't want any other Mercedes model. The C's are the only ones that come with a manual transmission if my knowledge is correct and I would never buy another automatic. I see tons of BMW's around town but I don't see too many Mercedes. Prestigious!

the other day I raced a 350z with stickers lol that thing is not THAT fast, 0-35ish is my lead, and from 30-60 it pulled on me, and after that I was getting back up on him.

mine is C200 and it cost me USD 80k...poorman's ride eh? Z is a nice sports car but C Class is much more practical and sofisticated in every way. You can't really compare C Class sedan with sports car like Z, what a morons.

Didn't I read or see on a auto show that the Z350 was built off of a Nissan suv platform? One of the guys in the Porsche club ordered one of the Z350 when they first came out, but returned it after a week. Then went to a BMW, and returned that after two months under the lemon law. The window was stuck down in the rain on the last trip to the dealer. And they didn't know why he was so angree when they could not fix it tell next week. (Oregon, rain)

First of all, this is a retarded comparison. For the most part, the C-class is a compact sedan, not a sports coupe. Compare a Nissan compact sedan to a c-class.
Compare a top of the line MB sports couple (eh, say a SLK55) to a top of the line 350z. You can't, there is no comparison.

I say this time and time again... If all you care about is speed -- then yes, get the Nissan 350Z/G35 Coupe; actually get a Subaru WRX, or get even the Mitsubishi Lancer -- even though Mitsubishi makes microwaves as well... The point I'm making is, never let things like that get under your skin (although the 350Z is faster than the C230)... You get the car that "all around" you like, and if that's the C230 then get that and stick with it.
Speed and performance is not everything - that's why people buy Ferrari's and not Porsche's. The features, the looks, the options, it all matters too. So on that bombshell, I don't respond to people who diss the C-Class (or the 3-Series), because no matter what they say it doesn't change my opinion of my car. I was aware before I brought both cars about cars like the 350Z or G35, etc... and I don't care because those cars are made to last 4 years and then they depreciate like Enron’s stock.
Just my 2cents.

If speed was everything, then everyone would be driving 'Vettes.
No matter what you do to a 350Z, any Vette you buy will trounce it.
In short, no matter what your choice, there's another car out there that will beat it in some category or another. So, who cares?
Buying a car because it has one redeaming characteristic may give short-term joy, but you'll grow to hate it as the relationship goes on (kinda like dating an airhead beauty queen). I prefer to look for the all-around best package - maybe not the best in any/every category, but when considering all categories combined, rating the highest.
