Old thread, but really useful! Thanks!!
I just bought a pair of DEPO from eBay and want to install. Before installing it, I plugged them in to test it out. The low beam light up. But the high beam don't work at all. Is it because the "Xenon = not present" setting that need to be changed by dealer?
Can I use the OBD2 cable to change it myself?

no you have to take it to a STAR machine to have it switched. If plugged in corrrectly the highs should work. is all the connections secure and plugged in tight.
Good luck getting a stealer to set you up. Mine said they wouldn't do anything for your non-MB parts. They might do it, but I think you'll have to find an indy to help you out with that.
This question just came up...and I realized I never posted the pdf I made of these instructions here.
So here it is. Makes it a lot easier when you're on your back.

Good advice. I think the OP pulling the wheels helped facilitate the pics, which helps for our purposes.

It's fine. Either unit will draw the appropriate amount of current, based on the load, stated as amperage.
