Dinky Thing Beside Foglight

Look at the passenger side foglight. A few inches to the right of it you see a black cone-shaped dinky thing sticking out. What is that?

Ding! Ding! Ding!

WooHoo! Ten points for young. Give that man a cupie doll!

Yes, sensor for ambient temp. reading in the MFD. Revstriker will probably chime in here with his story... if he isn't too busy post-whoring in the OT forum

And when it is disconnected, your dash will read 185 degrees all the time.

Can't believe I missed this one!!! Yes, it is a temperature setting. My story:

I started to get really hot readings on my readout (over 150 degrees). Now I know it gets hot here in TX, but not that hot! I looked in the manual and it said the temp sensor is in the front bumper, but it didn't say where. So I got out my flashlight and started looking around, and found a wire with the cone thing on the end. I pulled it out of a hole in the bottom of the bumper. I still wasn't sure if this was the temp sensor, so I put it in a glass of ice water, and then looked at the readout. Sure enough, down down it went. So where does this thing go I asked myself? I found the little hole next to the fog light and figured that must be it. However, I could not get it back in it's holder by reaching in from the top (forearms too fat I guess ). So I had to remove part of the wheel well. Long story short, it snapped in, and now my temperature reads 85 when it's 85 out.

You a golf nut? I need advice. I'm thinking of getting a driver. What brand do you recommend and what style #?

I am 5'8" tall and 150lbs and I am a step up from beginner level. I can hit 160 yards with a 7 iron and drive 220 yards with a 1 wood.

I want something that can give me more distance than what I can hit. Should I go for oversized, graphite, titanium?

Let me know what you think.

If you're a step up from beginner, then you're a step up from me!! I just started playing golf this year, so I'm still very much a novice, and no where near qualified to reccomend anything!! I know that there are more than a few "golf nuts" out there that may be able to offer some good advice.

I've played golf for almost 30 years (and I'm 41). I'm an equipment addict, but the best driver I've had is the Calloway Biggest Big Bertha titanium w/graphite shaft. Those are out of production, but the new Calloway VFTs are nice too. Just kinda expensive still. If you can afford a Calloway, I'd do it. But it won't fit in the trunk of a C230 without the seats down, I can vouch for that!

Congratulations! I'm jealous now! I'm sure you'll love it. My Dad got one and I use it whenever he's not playing!

And yes, you are absolutely right!

The driver will not fit into the Coupe's truck unless you lower one of the back seats. THANKS!
