Looking for a Citron Green Coupe

I'm transferring my SLK230 over to its new owner tomorrow and I'm going to be in the market for a used Mercedes. I've been toying with the idea of getting a CLK, but one thing that would keep me from going that route would be a Citron Green C230. Like most C230 owner's I'd prefer the C7 package and 6spd, but those aren't a MUST. The only thing that's a must is the Panoramic roof.

If anyone knows of a Citron Green coupe either for sale by owner or sitting on a dealer lot somewhere, please let me know. I'm willing to travel throughout the South, Midwest, and East Coast to get what I'm looking for. I **THINK** they only made them in '02 & '03 only, and its not a color everyone goes for, but I like it.

I realize its a LONG shot with wanting a specific color, but that's why I enlisted the help of the forum.

I greatly appreciated it! An autotrader.com search of C230s in green yielded this: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=718

While its less than I got out of my SLK that was paid off, I think its a bit on the high side for an '02 (granted the miles are LOW). If I pay that much, I think it should have leather and be a 6spd. If nothing else comes along, I may make an offer and see what happens.

leather wasnt as important to me as 6spd. i have cloth in mine and its a high quality cloth. c230's arent the quickets cars out there, but they're alot of fun to drive esp with manual. dont cave in and get automatic!

I'm the same way - I'd MUCH rather have a 6spd than leather. Before my SLK, I had a '02 C230 Brilliant Silver in auto w/cloth. It was an impulse purchase, and a great little car, but a good deal on a SLK came along and I couldn't pass it up. I drove the SLK 6 months and still made a nice profit upon selling it. I'm 26, so I'm definitely not a snobbish Mercedes owner. I'm in it for the fun of the car.

Finding a Citron Green C230 seems as almost as likely as finding the Holy Grail…or my virginity or something impossible like that, so I'm expanding my color list to Magma red, Mars red, or cubanite. I'm not in a huge hurry, but I'm afraid I'll end up doing something silly like getting a E46 BMW.

and Doug (Citron03_C230K) thought he would never be able to sell his citron manual tranny coupé.

Don't think he's selling, but i'm sure he would be happy to know that someone is actually looking for one.

He had to order his with all the options.

I've drooled over his car extensively for well over a year now. Its PERFECTION at its best! I tried to PM him to compliment him on his car, but its box was full, so this is me publicly giving him mad props for such a HOT car!

I'm going to next week to check out a '99 CLK430 w/43k miles. Its a little older than I prefer, but its a GREAT price, has all service records, and is in near mint condition. If nothing else, I can drive it for a few months, sell it, and make a profit.

I ended up picking up a '96 BMW 328ic w/23k actual miles on it, just to hold me over til I find a Citron Green Kompressor coupe like I REALLY want. I'm still looking, but they do seem to be the most difficult color to find. There's an '03 on Autotrader.com, but its an automatic and its a bit overpriced.

The novelty of owning a soft top convertible is wearing off QUICKLY. Anyone seen a Citron Green for sale lately?

i looked for you and found two:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=1029

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=947

one auto with low miles and high price... the other with manual with high miles and low price

now all you have to do is choose!

Thanks! That's weird because I looked this morning an autotrader, and the only one to pop up was the overpriced one in Iowa that they've had for several months. The one in MO has about twice as many miles as I prefer, but for the right price, I might go for it. I'm calling about it now.

Already sold for $12,000. That was the wrong phone number posted, so I had to do some reverse address lookup and googling.

I'm just gonna hold out for awhile until I find one like I REALLY want: Preferably a Citron Green in 6spd w/the Panoramic roof. I've got something to drive, its paid for, and I expect to make $2,500-$3,000 when I go to sell it, so its not like I'm going to be losing money while I drive it.

I think the last Citron I saw on Ebay was a good 6 months ago and it was in Canada. It had the C7 wheels, which someone painted to match the car. It too, had higher miles.

this may be out of line... but you could just buy an affordable 6 speed coupe (any color) and paint it citron green. that would be the easiest solution... but not the most genuine.

That would be the easiest solution, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that good things come to those who wait. If I haven't found something by the end of the summer, I'll just get a Magma/Mars red cubanite silver 6spd. I just prefer not to settle.

Feel free to add pictures to this thread to make me jealous and to give me reason to hold out! Mind if I ask what you had to pay and the mileage?

Mine had around 60,000 so it was high mileage I guess but it wasn't in terrible shape, actually it was in pretty good shape. Despite a lack of TLC it was mostly fine, only things really wrong were some interior panels were scratched and scuffed a little which I am going to replace real soon and it needed a good detailing on the inside which I have already done like 4 times . It was running strong and everything worked fine so when the dealer said $10,000 I went for it.

During this last month of ownership I have loved it and given the car 10x the TLC it deserves and I have gotten a lot of random people (mostly neighbors) complementing me on it thinking it was an '07

Right now I am at work with a pair of '05 taillights sitting in my trunk I picked up from the Benze dealer earlier today and I'm just counting down the hours till I get off so I can install those babies!

I'd take pictures but I don't have a digital camera so those will come later.

It actually looks exactly like the one in my avatar minus the euro strips.

That's awesome that you got such a great deal on your car! I'm gonna stick to my guns and hold out of a Citron Green like I want. Like you, I bought a car (just to hold me over) that hadn't had the best care. My car is 11 years old, but only had 23k on the clock. I don't think the guy ever heard of leather conditioner, so my driver's seat has a bit of wear. Minor things that can be fixed...I don't mind those!

Congrats on the great deal!

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
I seriously considered that color.
I saw a couple with oyster leather, and they looked sweet.
Also the Magma red, with black leather....my girl at the time hated red so I
ended up with Blue! Which I do like a lot.
A couple guys in Canada have those, and seriously modded too, Bix, 2005 grill painted green.
I saw an SLK in that color on the road...just once.
