If they do, you'll find the seat release levers when you open the trunk lid.
There will be one on each side along the top of the opening.

From my research, I was surprised to find how few of these cars were initially ordered with the split-fold rear seat option.

Thanks themerc! I don't think my car has them. It sucks b/c there is no access to the trunk!!

i think it was the 450$ option. just like bmw, they like to squeeze $ out of us on every possible options. later on they will list the steering wheel as a required option for $1500.. ahahhaha

Actually, it was a $290 option; but I agree with your point.

This was the cheapest of all options; for crying out loud - they should have made it standard, and just raise the friggin' asking price by a couple hundred bucks.
Hell, these are also an 'option' on E-Class Sedans.

O.k., off my box now . . .

No, BMW's come as a 'cold weather package' -- heated seats, 60/40 split folding seats, and headlight washers for $600. It's much cheaper.

By the way, those levers in the trunk are kinda hard to locate... TRUST ME.

Right, when I first got my car I thought that it didn't have rear folding seats because I couldn't FIND those levers. I found them later

me 2! lol... When I had to carry my AMG bumpers to the body shop it was hell. And then afterwards I found the levers I was pissed! I have a white interior so it got really dirty from carrying the bumpers in the cabin. Not cool.

You can also tell if you have the split-fold seats by checking the top of the rear shelf. In addition to the speakers and the 3 plastic-covered child tether strap points, there's another little plastic cover on the shelf. What this does is whenever the seats are folded flat, this "knob" pops up, almost like a door knob in the unlock position. I believe this knob has a red sticker, so that way, when you put the seats back up, if the knob is still showing red, then the seats are not fully latched back.
