Once you try the ultinon you understand why people who have them love them so much. Hella bright with a nice thick purple band across top of the beam. A truly bad@$$ bulb. Congrats

$315 HID kits from Xenon King for 05 C230?
Hey guys,
I have a question....... Has anyone bought this Hid conversion kit and if you did, do you recommend it. I am thinking of getting the 6000k kit for my 05 c230ss. I want the closest thing to mercedes Oem Hid look. However, I also like the blue look, but I don't want it to look chessy. What do you guys recommend. 8000k?
For $315 bucks, can't beat that. >>>>>check it out http://xenonking.com/
Is this legit?
Also after I install it, do I definitely have to take it to the MB dealer to have the xenon setting put in? Or will it work without doing this?

no higher than 6000k but this is like opening pandora's box with the "aftermarket hid" thread yet Id like to know as well but these seem almost 'too good to be true'

i just want a reliable kit that looks oem and really does the job of lighting up in front of me because yesterday I landed on the mother of all potholes and I did not see it. My rim tore on one side literally and I just spent $275 on a new rim from MB. Sucks. If I had xenons like my dad's infiniti I think I would have seen that pothole.
On a good note the tire was fine......Did you know we have Michelin partial runflats? That's what the guy at my proshop said and that is why tire was Ok ......MB wanted $275 for 1 tire

With the stock halogen headlight assembly, the H7 is a dual-filament (dual purpose) bulb in that it acts as the low beam and high beam for the headlights.
With the bi-xenon headlight assemblies, the HID bulb is a D2S bulb. The high beam is a combination of the shielded low beam and the H7 halogen bulb.
Now, here's the problem. If you take the stock halogen assembly and replace the H7 halogen bulbs with the new H7 HID kit, what do you have for your high beams at that point? There's no shield to change the angle of the light ouput from the HID's because this is a stock halogen headlight assembly. There are no filaments in HID's, so what do you do with the high beams?

BTW if you notice on this website they also sell the Philips HID kit for $449.

BTW guys, I think we need a HID/Xenon sticky or something. This searching through the forum through tons of useless HID/newb threads sucks.

I've taken the H7-low and fitted in HID from an E55.
-- In low beam mode, HID-low is lit...H7-high is off (natch).
-- In high beam mode, the HID-low drops the shield and the full beam is
exposed....while the H7-high (halogen) comes on and contribues what it
can to the intensity.

Uh so in laymen's terms lol! you don't lose the High beam lights because of this low beam /high beam H7 characteristic? However, that is from an E55, what about these aftermarket kits listed above? Will it act the same way as your car did if you use the correct H7 low with the right HID kit?

Just spend the money on bi-xenons, they look awesome, work great, and fit the vehicle with no problems. I think it's worth it to avoid all this hassle...
