I just ordered mine from www.xenonkits.com. I should have them by next week. I'll take some pics and give you my thoughts.

HID Lights
They turned out great! Super easy to install. I just had to make a small 1.5" cut in the plastic cap where the rubber grommet (supplied) goes. I used my dremel tool. Probably took 30 minutes. I uploaded a pic of the diff from old to new. I may purchase the fog and high beams too. Great company to deal with. I also purchased the resistor kit that is plug n play. It just plugs inline with the new system. These are super bright lights. I'm sure they would even be better with a projector housing.

Man, so I bought the 55w kit and installed it. The first night everything was fine. The next day the lights started flickering...anyone else have this problem? If so how'd you fix it?

Does anyone have a DIY for the resistor fix for HID's? Or if anyone has a link to a dealer that sells HID error correction kits would be good too. I can only find one site but it's in Europe.

I'm not sure why you have a problem with the 55w kit. I have the same car as you with a 55w Apexcone kit.. no issues. And in my car xenon is NOT set to present, and I have no resistors or anything of the sort. Nor did they come built in (sold separately for $40).

K I think I figured out why I got the error. The cover that goes over the back of the headlights were crimping the wires. I ended up cutting a hole big enough so the wires can move freely and it has worked ever since.

I bought a 55w kit off ebay for 75 shipped. It works great as long as you do not set your lights to Constant. Whenever I try to use that setting, the head lights will flicker and give off an error message.
It could be because the kit is from China...but overall it works great and I love the 55w brightness. Bought the kit from just_plaza http://cgi.ebay.com/HID-Xenon-CONVER...QQcmdZViewItem

ok there's a lot to go through here....is it safe to turn xenon=present on if my HID kit is 55W? or is that setting only when you have 35w HID ballasts?

It is interesting to note the other guy that has posted on this page that says his 55w kit works unless you use the headlights = constant feature. I'm gonna go try that.

if you guys need resistors / capacitors i bought these ones... for 30$ shipped.

Anyways,... my kit is the 35W from VVME.com
It flickers, and i get the low beam check errors, so i got these error cancelers,.. hopefully they work,... they are shipped but have yet to get them.. I will post back if they work.

As you can see the VVME kits are not fool proof. It's so inconsistent.
IntoTheBlue - my HIDs work even with the DRL feature enabled in the settings menu.

hey this is my first post and new to these stuff.. i ahev been reading for the pass week and have not yet need to post untill today! i just got my w203 (2005 230 K) week ago so am noobie to these car modifications. my friend who works for a mechanice for Porsche ordered DDM HID kit (h7) bulbs for my low beam... i was reading on the forum and was aware of the flickering issue and told my mechanic friend about it.. but was told it was high quality hid kits so it wouldn have a problem... but we installed it and it flickered damn it.. soo now... i guess i have 2 optiosn right?
1) go to mercedes to reprogram it to xenon = present... how much would it cost to do this? would they do it?
2) buy DDM HID warning Code eliminator.... i am wondering how many of u guys out there have experienced this item and if it works.. thanks
and my mechanic friend already ordered the kit for fog lights... would i have flickering issue with teh fog lights as well? will i need to get the Warnign code eliminator too??
Thanks guys!

xxhanxx, here's my situation. i got flickering with the DDM 55w kit, so ordered the warning code eliminator and now my HIDs work but NOT when i have daytime running lights on (headlights set to constant in the dash menu)
So if you intend to have your headlights turn on everytime you start up the car, you'll have to go to the dealer to get xenon=present, because for me at least, the warning code eliminator doesn't work for that.

ok first i have to thank you for not making a new thread on your issue. and second thank you for reading. if you have the 35watt kit i would recommend you go to the dealer explain that you need to find a good dealer to work with since you just got the car. tell them that you need a setting changed and they will most likely do it for you and make sure you go at an off time so that they will not have to rush and more likely not charge you. it also helps since you are new to the dealer to go talk to a sales person and ask for the best service advisor. also it helps if you put your location in your profile so that we can help you find the best dealer. if the dealers around you won’t help you can find a shop that specializes in mb and they will usually have a star computer. it also helps to print out the location of the setting so that they can change it quickly with little effort. I will post it here for you if I can find it. Good luck and hope you are enjoying your new car!

thanks for the response, yea im probably gonna go to MB and switch it to xenon = present first since i have a 35watt kit in my trunk and see the outcome. i live in canada vancouver bc so day time running lights are always on... i cant avoid the issue.. i cant even install the lights first then drive to the dealership to change it... haha i have to go to the dealer ship frist then change the bulbs after..
how about the xenon fog lights. will it flicker?

About the fog lights - the car is capable essentially of detecting every single bulb on the exterior of the car. I got an error stating my left license plate light was out. So most likely if you put in 35w fogs it will flicker without error cancelers.
