Elite HID's
Price is about Thin ballast too, $140+ depending on where you live. The HID's are sent COD US mail(it's secure). So the post office will give you the package after you pay. If anyone would like
to order any Call Mike, # - - ( let him know that the guy from Wheaton/Carol Stream with the Benz, recommended you), Let him know what kind you want and he will send to you.
I got 6000k, and are super bright. The first kit he gave me sucked(for the Benz but work great on other cars) until he got me this new one that he just got.
Been buying my HID's kits from him for about 3years, never had a problem.
Pm me for Phone number!

HID CONVERSIOTN KITS
I bought DEPO projector lights on ebay and purchased an HID kit from a MBWorld member in the classifieds. The DEPO headlights are fairly inexpensive and look as close to the OEM BI-Xenons as anything available. The quality is pretty good and I have had no complaints for my 05 c230 SS. If you get any HID kit you may need to go to dealer and have them code "Xenon Present" otherwise you may have problems turning the lights on. However, the kit i got was plug and play and I have put 60000 miles on them with no burnouts, minimal condensation and they still look very nice. The beam pattern takes some adjustment but after some trial and error, my lights are some of the brightest of any car ive been in and have some amazing long-range distance (in my opinion better than the OEM ones). Many will tell you the beam pattern is inferior to the OEM, and it probably is, but if you utilize your fog lights and adjust the beams correctly, you will be very happy. The only downside is they are not glass like the OEM but a hard plastic. Over time, you will need to wet sand and buff them if you want to retain optimal clarity, but if you dont live in an area where theres snow, rain, rocks sand or poor weather, you may not have this problem. Definitely an upgrade from the factory halogen lamps, even the crystal ones like my car came with. any questions send me a PM

35w vs. 55w
What is the difference between 35w vs. 55w HID kits. Other than 55w being brighter, is there anything else? Is it a noticeable difference? Do most of you guys with HID kits use the 55w??
Sorry i didn't search the thread, im still at work. Anyways im picking up HID's for my low beams and my fogs and its $20 more for the 55w. any opinions?
Thanks....

so, during my lunch break I called few dealers to see if they can set my xenon to present for me, most of the dealer had no idea what I was talking about so I told them I need to have it hook up to star machine to change the xenon to present. I got qoute from $100 to $150 to do that, until I talked to one of the service adviser from Fletcher Jones.
He said if it's something easy that they can do on the drive lane then it's free.
My advise for you guys to get it done free.
1.Print these pictures out, these pictures are from sticky
2. Don't even bother calling any dealer.
3. Just drive in and park in the drive lane (waiting for service lane)
3. when they ask you what you want to do, just say you want to see a Drive In Technician
4. when the drive technician comes, just show you the pictures above and said you want to set xenon to present.
5. technician should be able to just go get the star machine and update that for you right away.
This shouldn't take more than 5 mins.
this way, you'll have it done for free.
if you call and make appt, they'll prob take the car in and change you for that, there should be a drive in tech in every dealer.
and if do plan to put aftermarket HID on (regardless if it's gonna throw error or not), I would advise that you get it set to xenon present before you put the kit in, this will save you some trouble later on. Cause if you put aftermarket HID, some dealers will not want to set it for you.
So, just go have it set to xenon and tell the drive in tech you plan to get xenon later on.

can someone please repost the pictures? or give specific branches as to where "xenon = present" can be found? i would like to get my dealership to do it in as little time as possible, so they don't have an excuse to charge me.
thank you

55w kits are ~20% brighter. I have a 55w kit(or so I was told). They are extremely bright(they'll make your hand look white even in daylight). The only problem I have is that I haven't set xenon=present so they flicker.
I decided to install the capacitors mentioned(4700uF 35v radioshack #272-1022). I installed them and the lights do the same thing as before(flicker), UNLESS I turn my headlights on for ~1min. and let them warm up BEFORE starting the car, then they work fine... Any ideas as to why the caps don't work? Dealer quoted me 1hr of labor to do the above fix with photos... It's BS.
Thanks

i bought the capsitor kit off ebay, search for HID capasitor and it will come up. it made my kit plug and play, no warning and no flicker, eash install took 30 for both side and that includes making the holes for the socket and mounting the ballast.

I dunno either unless they're not quite 55w. Some kits I saw for sale were just 50w, which could make the computer think that a bulb has failed. My 55w kit works perfectly. And xenon is not set to present in my car.

XENON HID 96-99 MERCEDES BENZ W210 PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS
I ordered a set of aftermarket HID lights I found on eBay from kazespeed. Item # 310038089393-HID 96-99 BENZ W210 E300/E320/E420 PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS for $269.00 (the set) - white, the 6000K color on the scale.
The pure white light makes all the difference in the world. What a difference, I could never go back to using the yellow candlelight I had before. I also installed the LED brake lights with a red brighter than anything I have ever seen. The only problem I have is that the computer tells me there is a bad lightbulb. That goes away when I hit the reset button on the dash.
