CL203 Coupe Pano-roof Maintenance - MB lube Grease Part #s, gears, & fixes
On super cold days, my brake pads gets frozen to the rotors whenever I wash my car too. This only happens if I washed my car and then drive it straight home.
So far.. no creaking on the very HOT days... was super hot only 2-3 weeks ago....
and now its FREEZING..!!!! aarrrggghhhh... feels like FALL and we are only in August.
You'll note that different people recommend different 'juices', but the common solution is to get the rubber clean and reasonably slippery, without making it greasy [which just attracts more dirt].

These kinds of noises are common, and not just with MB - it's a common complaint with Hondas, and the solution is the same - a good thorough going-over with some silicone spray on a rag or paper towel does the trick. Applied to the door rubbers, this also cured a persistent creak in the doors of our W202 C-sedan [a '94 C220].

Yes.. or Menards. I'm gonna go try it right now. Will post results later.
No noise!!
i applied it using a shop towel to my sunroof seals and metal joints, as well as in the sliding tracks. the noise from the roof is gone.
however, i also applied it to the edges of the aluminum in the center console (where the cup holder is) between the aluminum and the black "leather" on each side. i have a lot of cracks & pops from that area. the spray did not help this at all.
Has anyone else noticed this problem?
Larry
For the record: I've never re-lubed the tracks nor applied any silicone-goop to the seal and the creaking noise goes away for 4000 miles. I just clean it with the windex-rag that I used on the glass.

Do a search
I propose a new acronym for this board: STFF. Hopefully, I won't have to spell out what it means.
Whaddya mean "Do a search - what's that" ????Are you serious? Duh. Searching these forums is the easiest way to get exactly the answers you're looking for, although I admit I doubt I'd find STFF ... ok, I'll bite...
???? That's the universal sign for sarcasm, which I need quite often. Since you can't figure it out, it would be: Search The F***ing Forum. I thought that was pretty easy to decypher.
Huh? What's that?

Since the car is in again I asked them to resolve this issue again, but they claim that silicon spray is the only fix. I have done this myself every other car wash and it doesn't really help.
Searching through the threads, I notice some have fixed this. So the point of this thread is to determine what the solutions hav ebeen so that I can present some other possible fixes.
Thanks
Nathan
I have the same problem... it sucks... I am just going to keep returning it until they get annoyed.
This is along side of a similar noise coming from my door.
I believe that someone said they had the rails replaced, and that fixed the problem.
Anyone else claim to have had this fixed by MB?
Nathan
Yes, it looks great and makes the interior really light and airy.
But creaking/squeaking noises are driving me nuts!
It has been back to the dealer twice. I don't know what they do to it, but it stops the noise for just a few weeks only.
I have heard some people say - just keeping lubricating the seals. But should I have to do this on this quality of car?
If it continues, I am seriously thinking of getting rid of it!
GRRRRRRRRRRR
