Don't feel bad. If he had a BBK he prolly would have been able to stop quick enough.

The C holds up very well in the impact. The passenger cell is intact. A testament of MB structural quality. Sadly it is not built to withstand bullets.

Did anybody notice that the windshield seems to only have one bullet hole on the passenger side? How did the police shoot him if he was coming straight at them if not through the windshield on the driver's side?

They opened up the driver's door and shot him after he had passed out from the alcohol, obviously.

That's too bad that he took down another Benz with him, though I don't see that car in the pics.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
How sad for the man's family. In other countries there is no rush to use deadly force on alcoholics. The fact that he struck a police vehicle does not mean it was a calculated malicious attack. Sometimes drunks crash their cars without knowing it. We will never know if this driver is a perp or a victim. The police and prosecuters are already done with the Barney (Fife) Investigation, and have reported that this guy was so out of control he needed killing.

These cops could have let this guy drive home, and arrest him later without causing property damage and shooting up the neighborhood.

These chases are not needed when they are policing low level crime. Last week in Los Angeles a motorist in the wrong place was killed in a high speed chase accident. The police were bent on catching, at any cost, the driver of a stolen $600 car. The police should go back to police work, and stop harassing young drivers with chicken butt tickets, and putting road users in danger.
