Door pin fell into the door =/

Yes, just as the title says, one of my door pins has fallen into my door. I was replacing my stock ones (one was bent) with a set I purchased on ebay, and after I took off the stock one, the screw that goes under the pin fell into the door. Now, the door won't unlock at all. Is there any way to pull it back up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I tried searching for this but with what I searched, nothing relevant came up.

you may have to just take the door apart unfortunately...

Push the lock button and see if you can see the pin through the hole. Get a coat hanger and try to center the pin while unlocking the car.

If that doesnt work, take the door panel off. DIY link

Ahh wow that sucks. Thanks for the DIY though, if it has to come to that then it'll be very useful. Just a thought, but could there be like a magnet or something you could stick down there to pull it up?

Did you try and shine a flashlight down the hole to see if the pin has actually "fallen" or if it is just dark and cannot see it without extra light?

I thought I had done the same thing when I was doing my car, but when I shined a flashlight down the hole, I could see the pin and pulled it back up with needle nose pliers.

Yes, it was my rear passenger side door.

@drex: I need to find a flashlight but I'll give that a try. I tried looking in there but because of my tint and the angel of the window I can't get a good top-down view.

ditto drex and enki....
have successfully bailed out buddies by using hemostat, soda straw, or a
sharp/pointed tool....all make this task pretty easy. note that you'll probably
need to manipulate the door switch (use your remote key) so once you center
the pin in the hole, you simply press the UNLOCK to raise the threaded rod.

Thank you so much for that thread, I didn't think to type in "Door pin got jacked" but it actually sounds fairly simple to do. Now if only I had a flashlight and it weren't 95 degrees out... I'll post back if I have any results. Thanks again to everyone.

Open your windows all the way! That'll give you a little more natural light also and also some room to manipulate pliers, cuz you can reach through the window, rather than having to worry about scratching your tint or knicking the window.

I did the same thing. Take the pin surround off and you should be able to just grab the lock rod.
