c230 convert to c32 or upgrade help
I was thinking to get a c32 Engine to put in my c230 because I already
put 19" lowenheart rims, re-did the whole system and interior and would
not like that money to go down the drain. but i need more power! i want
to be able to beat these stupid honda S2K's in my city any ideas?

Noobs opinion:
These cars are slow and weren't ment to be fast hence the dire lack of Aftermarket support. IMO You'd be better off selling your car and getting an actual C32 or a BMW (which has a much better aftermarket) if you want to really go fast and run with the big boys.
Your best bet for the c230 though would be a small shot of Nitrious like maybe a 50 shot and maybe a pulley, you'd be considerably quicker than stock with those performance mods but still no beast.
An engine swap would not be very cost effective and I personaly don't think the $$$ and headaches would be worth it over just selling your car and getting a real C32. If you still want an upscale name brand car with fast performance out of the box and huge aftermarket aswell I would go with a 335i two door.
That car is already sporting 300hp twin turbo six right out of the box, add some some basic performance upgrades to that car and your beasting.

Yeah, without the c32 engine that 19" rims will be a total waste.
But the new engine may turn out a little expencive and time consuming. As a first step i would recommend you an electric super charger. Every one on this forum already has it and highly recommends

I'm pretty competitive with S2K's. Does my car count?
That's also ones that aren't fully forced induced or have crazy power mods. Just the simple ones that majority of the people can afford

Eee gads, are we on google for dipsticks?
If you have a C230 sedan, buy the C32.
If you have a coupe and want to upgrade, search and the answers are yours.

look on ebay and getparts.us (salvage yard finder), you'll find one. Make sure you get everything, intercooler, ecu, harnesses, everything. Also do you have auto or manual trans? The manual trans won't be able to handle anywere near 349HP, you'll ruin it in short order.

I've seen C32 engines on this forum over the years for like $4k. So actually it may still be somewhat worth it. Not sure if those engines were blown but I remember at least 1 of them was perfectly working.

to the OP, you are in a similar situation as me. i got the wheels, tint, suspension, and audio done. i wouldnt want to let it all go and start a new with just buying a c32.
there have been guys that put a c32 engine in their car. its a lot of headache and time and not to mention money. but if you are down for that, then by all means do it. the price and worth of the car with all the aftermarket you put in isnt in kbb. i mean granted to some extent, yes kbb value is important. but the money, blood, sweat you put in the car, you wouldnt wanna sell and start anew.
so i say go for it only if you have the cash flow. you are looking at least spending 10k if not more.

i would say just keep the c230 as a daily driver and save up money to get either a c32 or c55 to only drive for fun. that way, you can keep the miles down on the amg, which in turn will offset your maintenance costs and you'll have a solid car for daily driving.
