you can manually push them in either direction without using the buttons also. I've never had anyone mess with mine though. The speed limiter is set at 60mph I believe and after that, it won't fold.

How much does that mod cost and how hard is the install??

 

It costs around 600 bucks as stated earlier and it took me 45 minutes. 20 minutes the second time. No extra wiring should be necessary. Just plug and play.

 

Ideal when being tailgated...at least - on a W202 where they can be folded at any speed...

Steve, can i install these folding mirrors in my W203? I have the 230K sedan with power seats but only powered certain ways. to move back and forth i have a lever.

 

You may have to change door control modules then.

You can ask Steve about the cost of them. I suggest you get the mirrors and switch first and see if it works. If not, you will need the door modules. Do a search for steve's email address.

 

Is anyone know the DAS program steps for 2002 C320 to fold the mirror automatically. It means the mirrors can fold and unfold on locking and unlocking the car.

I visited my dealer today and they said they try but can't found any thing like that in the star diags system for 2002 C320

I had this W211 power folding mirror mod installed and want to set it up to have the mirror automatically folding function when the engine is off/on. Thanks !!

I knew for 2003 E class, it can using DAS to set up such a nice function.

Mark, great to hear Steve is coming to your area soon. Please ask him if he can use the Star diags to program the W211 power folding mirror mod to have the mirror automatically folding function work when the engine is off/on on the C class (320, 240, 230). Thanks !!

Also, can you ask Steve if he knew how to rewires the W211 power folding mirror to make the driver side dimming function work, of course with the puddle light issue too. Thanks again !!

This folding mirror setting is to be activated in the dashcluster and the doormodules of the W211...the puddle lights are variable settings in the W211 doormodules as well...my guess is that the W203 has different doormodules that do not support the auto folding feature...

In Australia ( may be other contries also ) the MB have folding mirror option for C-class.
So I hope there must be some setting for it.


Any C-class owner have this folding mirrors option pre-installed from the MB factory ???

Yes, in the W203 the folding mirror option can be installed without memory seats. It justs costs a lot of money.

- folding mirror frame
(option codes - heating, dimming, folding, memory - as it applies to your car)

- door controller module
( with folding mirror capability )

- cable loom

1 set per side.

- new dashboard light switch with folding buttons. If you have factory Xenon then buy the Xenon version of the switch.

 

How is the Xenon switch different than standard? Anyone have pictures?

The Xenon is self levelling and doesnt have the vacuum switch - the small wheel that goes 0-1-2-3.

A BLING install doesnt have self levelling - about 90% of Xenon retrofits dont have self levelling. They are supposed to.

I am not sure if you guys are correct. I spoke with steve because I was in the same situation as Cliffybabe. I wanted the folding mirrors and I don't have the memory seats. Steve had informed me that the US spec W203 could posssibly come with correct door controller module. He hasn't confirmed or denied that it could or couldn't be done. I apologize to you both if I am incorrect but just going by what the euro pimp wrote back to me. If you guys are speaking from experience, then both Cliffybabe and myself are screwed from getting folding mirrors.

The door modules are expensive and hard to get from surplus. If you need to buy 2 of them it makes the job pretty expensive.

There is nothing to prevent the folding mirrors from being fitted. It comes down to dollars.

 

That is not available on US spec cars unless one goes to the expense of a retrofit.

 

Ok, I didn't want to sound like an idiot and ask what the heck that was. But since I now know that it REALLY isn't on my car, what the heck is it?
