Saw 1.8 fender badge today

Saw 1.8 fender badge today
Got a truck with three C-coupes in today at the dealer where I work. One of them had the 1.8 badge on the fender, and this is the first one I have seen like that. I don't know why the other two didn't have it, except that they were both 6-spd, but I don't see why that would matter. Anyway, I don't think it looks that good with just 1.8 on there.
Also, all three had a little rubber piece on the back edge of the wind deflector. Don't know what this is for except to maybe deflect a little more air. But it is only about 3" wide and less than an inch tall in the center of the roof. Again, this is the first I have seen this on an '03. This doesn't look good either, but I wonder what it does and if it deflects air, how well does it work?

Well, maybe the spacemen...
I noticed it as well in the new "peep-show" TV spot (not really discernable as a "1.8" just that there is a badge behind the wheel).
