How clean is your underhood?

Please keep in mind, it's much better to do this after a wash as that is when excess drippings drop down into the engine bay through the hood vent. I would also recommend waiting for the engine bay to be cool prior to wiping it down.
Hmmm...reminds me of something I need to do before So-Cal Euro on Saturday.

He couldn't have said it any better...
I spray the engine bay liberally with degreaser then use a toothbrush and toilet brush (no funny jokes, they work well) to loosen any dirt from all surfaces before rinsing with a hose on low pressure. I follow up with a bit of wax on painted surfaces and treat all rubber/vinyl surfaces.
Takes about 30 mins, very easy.

Slightly off-topic, but maybe not....
What do you guys use to clean the wood-trim in the interior of the car?
I was just cleaning it with a damp cloth, but it sure doesn't enhance the wood-trim.
I would stay away from a power washer that could drive water into the connections with the 1500psi that it generates causing electrical problems down the road.
I would DEFINATELY stay away from using a steam cleaner as the hot vapour will work its way into the electrical components.
Actually all this was covered on the PBS show Motorweek and John Goss the mechanic on the show confirmed all of the above
