what ever happened to "i'll take care of you!"

just dropped off the car to HOI....and now that my c230 is @ 45k, engine problem came along (good thing it happened before warranty expired), i was entitled to a loaner. however the loaner is on the "house" just for a day...

what ever happened to 'just keep the loaner until the car is fixed."
also the adviser tells me that this is pretty much same for all dealership. is this true? if engine problem is not fixed and takes more days, then i'd need to pay from the 2nd day, advisor says..

F@/%!&~ that!!!

MB is getting stingier and stingier...might have to consider BMW or something...

where can i go to get a decent service...any advises?

HOI has always been pretty bad.

Try Beverly Hills (ask for Terry or Scott) or DTLA Motors (ask for Greg). DO NOT under ANY circumstances go to South Bay...

tell your advisor he is full of ****. my friend service his car there. talk to the asian service advisor lady there. she might be the only person that's nice there.

with the factory warranty, MBUSA pays the dealership to give customer loaners. the dealers are getting more and more stingy either way.

MB of Valencia has a pretty decent service dept. They're brand new so they're doing everything to please people and everybody to see the dealership. I would advice to call dealership first if they have a loaner available. If not, they'll get you into a decent Enterprise rental.

At Beck Imports in Charlotte, I had a normal service done & received a loaner. During the routine service they found that a window seal needed replacement, and didn't have the seal in stock. They told me to keep the loaner until my car was ready, which took a total of 3 days. Not sure if it helps you, but here in Charlotte they were great about the loaner.

santa monica had me on a loaner for a week, my car was in for warranty work, no charge. i bought my car from them.

valencia loaned me a car for two days, no charge, warranty work also, I didn't buy the car from them either.

btw, those two jobs were years apart, so i think the car is still "reliable". two different issues too.

The only loaners at my local dealership (Tysinger MB, Hampton, VA) are Hyundais... and they make you pay for them. My next car will be a BMW for sure.

HOI is the worst dealership in the O.C. They don't strive hard to rip you off, it comes naturally to them. I've gotten loaners for multiple days on out of warranty cars like my kid's SLK and in-warranty cars like my C230.

Same at M-B Manhattan. They needed some time for one repair and dinged the car in the process. That required them to repair/repaint the fender. Had the loaner (C240) for nearly two weeks.

Are u sure? If MBUSA reimburses the dealer for loaners? WHy do I have to ride the shuttle when everyone else who bought their car at the steelership gets a loaner? It was my understanding that the dealer owns the loaner policy which is why it varies from dealer to dealer. Basically you have to buy the car at that dealership in order to get a loaner.

My point (as FrankW bought up) is that if MBUSA pays for a loaner under the factory warranty, why would it make a difference if you purchased the car independently. The loaner is already paid for. Am I correct?

I was told that the free loaner was good for as long as they had the car and it was a warranty issue keeping it there. They would even drop off the loaner and pick up your car at your house and re-deliver when finished for the first year!

From Mercedes of South Charlotte website:

Q: Can I get a service loaner from you even though I did not purchase my car here?
A: Absolutely. The staff at Mercedes-Benz of South Charlotte is dedicated to
meeting and exceeding our customer’s expectations. While we will do our utmost
to meet your need for alternate transportation, we do recommend that you call
ahead to schedule a service appointment. You must be at least 21 years old,
provide proof of insurance and a major credit card.

Show'em the link: http://www.mercedesbenzofsouthcharlotte.com
Select menu pull-down "Parts/Service", then go to "FAQ"

Maybe they'll feel like the total heels that they are, and give you a loaner.
