Anyone have this happen?

Ok, I needed to get a new windshield. Insurance and dealer both recemmended this local place. Well not only did they put in a new windshield, but now I have some groovy new dents in my hood where they close it on a tool they left in the engine bay. And the aerodynamic divot on the front of the hood where they pressed down with their hand to close that dang thing. Oh and they broke the trim too.

Do those paintless dent places work good? Guess I'm an idiot for going to a place called Moose....

At least I don't see a Crack in that gl *** anymore..

Thanks for the rant now you can continue with your previously scheduled surfing.

HAHA at least you have a sense of humor about it....Did they acknowledge what had happened? or did they just leave it for you to notice? Is the damage highly visible? Cuz if it is, even though you may not feel like it going through stupid dealings, BUT THEY SHOULD PAY!!!...or at least your insurance...that's nonsense...I know I would be absolutely furious...good luck

Yeah, i think they should pay for it. It is their fault. i've heard good things about paintless dent removal, but I don't have any personal experience.

Use the paintless dent removal on my fender once. They are good, you can't even tell, just like new.

I've used paintless dent removal several times and am very pleased with the results.

I've done paintless many times. It is great and much cheaper than painting.

Out here in CA, most paintless companies are Mobile and come to where ever you are. Takes an hour or two, depending on the complexity of the job.

I've used the paintless on both my cars, as well as others. It works great, but not for all dings; they'll tell you what they can and can't handle. I found a mobile operation as well, quite by accident, actually. I had asked this guy that I was having detail the car at the time, if he had ever heard of it, and it turned out there was an outfit that used the same name he used, Bumper2Bumper. I guess he had gone from threatening litigation to just getting along. They did a great job, and even used a little touch up paint where necessary.

Years later, I took my Coupe to a local MB dealer for warranty service, and they have a paintless guy who looks at every car and gives an estimate (pretty smart, 'cuz it works as a record of every ding in your car when you left it, so you can't blame them for anything later). They got something like $99 per body panel, regardless of how many dings. They ended up giving me a deal, and the car was already there, plus, it's a dealer! The best parts, of course, are no bad paint match, no overspray, no paint stink. I say do it...but the glass shop better pay!

I've use a dent removal service on my Acura after someone kicked in my fender. I would say it was about 95% perfect it was a huge dent and the guy was a miracle worker (cost me $175 including some minor dings on the doors and spent about 2 hrs on it), for dents the size of a silver dollar you can never tell it was repaired.

It all depends on 2 factors:
The talent of th guy that is doing it
The accessibility of where the dent is. Some dents they can't fix because they can't get under the damage area, especially near reinforcements and seams

I have a dent on the roof just above the door from a golf ball that hit me while driving and it can not be repaired because of the airbag system underneath it

I would imagine there aren't too many choices for glass repair in Tyler. Hope everything works out for ya. I've had good results from paintless dent removal places. My only problem is when you find a good one, they go out of business by the time you get another dent. Don't know why, they make $80 for doing 10 minutes work.
