Quote: Correct me if I am wrong - But Distronic (Or at least Distronic PLUS) uses its own radar unit (Usually in the grille work) for the function of monitoring vehicle distance in relationship to one in front of it...

Jake
Yes - on some models I understand that to be true. On my 203 it used the same sensors as Parktronic

Euro Impact Strips (Rear) no where to be found
I checked on the forum and the only info I got was the impact strips for the front.

I'm looking for the impact strips like this w203. How it doesnt have the chrome lining. (on the side and rear)

I have tried a lot of shops and all they have are the front ones. Do they not have it because the Euro bumper is different?

Thanks

Edit

I know the rear is probably parktronics (If i spelled it right) but something similar, anything other than the chrome lining.

Here are Lorinser front (left right) Impact strips, if anyone is interested.

You can get from MBenzNL - With or without chrome strip - with or without Parktronic sensors - pre painted if you know your colour code.

You are looking for a Classic rear impact strip in ROW speak.

Thanks Glyn. You have been the biggest help from anyone on this site ever.

Ya, I don't think chrome goes too well with sport models. To be honest with you here in the USA I have never seen a C class with Parktronics. Is that something not common in the US?

I sent them an email seems their website has been recently updated.

Thanks again.

Distronic is a system that maintains the distance between you & the car in front of you automatically. You set it at a safe distance & the car maintains that distance automatically.

I'm actually the biggest mix. My grandfather from my mom's side is Greek, my grandmother is Romanian. My dads side they are all Armenian, but I was born in Russia but live in USA. Maybe somewhere down the line from my dad's side someone was Dutch?? loool

I wish I lived in South Africa, Sometimes here at work when I get swamped I go to MBworld and just look at your sig (Beautiful Place) and say I wonder what Glyn is doing now.

Here is our beach in SoCal

Anyone wan't to go for a swim???

C230K coupe euro impact strips and mirror ?
Hey guys (and gals),

I want to swap over to the euro style impact strips. Where can I find these bad boys. I did a search and the only thing I could come up with was evosport, however they do not sell them.

Also, are the coupe and sedan mirrors the same?

Thanks!!!

i never understood how someone could spend 200-300$ for euro impact strips.. thats to do (maybe) when you have done all possible mods and if its a showcar... otherwise its a waste of money.

Ha, check in the W204 forum, a certain sponsor has the audicity to charge 250
for painted lenses.
I think the euro strips look nice, not nice enough to
pay the bucks for. I do like the clear lenses I have.
In one case someone from Europe wrote on the forum that they wanted one's like ours, since thats whats cool in Europe. He traded with a member here.
So, I guess there's quite a few sets languishing in closets throughout Europe?
It would be interesting to run an ad on a European Ebay site for strips with lenses, then ask for the 'core' he hehe he.

Have you checked here?
http://www.mbenznl.nl/

you won't be able to see it on the site. You have to email (contact) them.
Shoot them an email and see if they have them. I checked about a month ago and they had Impact Strips even for the coupes.

If you are in SoCal then you can email this guy tony@rtwmotoring.com RTWMotoring are SoCals distributor for Lorinser, Carlsson, Brabus etc parts. So every dealer that sells Lorinser cars these guys fix them up then send them to the dealer.

Good Luck
